Good morning friends, I apologize for my sporadic posts this week but life and the move have been keeping me busy. I hope that you have had a great week and that you are keeping yourself cool on these very hot days. Our weather has been beautiful, very low humidity and not too hot, I am sure that is coming to a screeching halt soon but for now I am soaking it all in.
Sunday is Father’s Day, will you be spending the day with your dad? I will not be with my dad this year unfortunately but I know that he will be in good hands with my sisters.
I have lots to share this week so grab your favorite beverage and maybe a snack and lets get too it.
Food
If you haven’t gotten your dad a gift yet you could always make his favorite meal or dessert, what could be better than a “gift” made with love.
My dad loves brownies so that is what I sent him for Father’s Day along with his card.
If you are grilling here is a great vegetarian option, Grilled Chimichurri Portobellos with Goat Cheese Mashed Potatoes from Pinch of Yum might just fit the bill.
Cooking for Keeps made Spicy Beef Noodles that are faster and more delicious than take-out.
This Cold Crunch Noodle Salad from Floating Kitchen looks delicious and refreshing and a great salad to have on the menu all summer long.
In case you missed my Banoffee Pie in a Jar this week, it is an easy dessert that the whip family will love.

Father’s Day Finds
Here are a few last minute gift ideas your dad might like.
This bbq Stainless-Steel Basting Pot with Silicone Brush and Handle
I love these cute enamelware coffee cups and I think dad would too!
A croquette set is another fun gift for dad and a great way to get outside and off the devices.
Both my dad and husband love bbq and grilling, here are two great cookbooks if your dad does as well. Project Smoke by Steven Raichlen and The Pitmaster.
This gift is pricy but it is really for the entire family, an Ooni Koda 16 Gas Powered Pizza Oven. My husband bought this pizza oven for himself for Christmas and we use it every Friday night for pizza night. It is easy to use and make fabulous pizzas.
I hope that you found something that you enjoyed here this week and as always I hope that you will share your favorite recipes, books, podcasts, movies, and more with us.
Have a wonderful and safe weekend.

I do not anticipate seeing my father until after second vaccination, so it’ll be awhile.
You know, I love your blog, but featuring Jane Fonda!! You are perhaps too young to know of the young Americans who died because of her traitorous activities. It may have been erased from the internet because her former billionaire husband may have removed the crimes. But please understand, those of us who are older have extremely clear memories of what a lowlife privileged witch she was. She used her Hollywood-privileged know-nothing background to make a name for herself, collaborating with the enemy. Decent young American men died in agony because of her. Please do not think she is worthy of notice. Thank you for reading this and researching what I say – ask an old person aged around 70 what she did during the Vietnam war!
Those caramell/banana desserts looks so yummy! Thanks for sharing the recipe Elizabeth!
