Good morning friends and a very happy Friday to you! It has been a l-o-n-g, crazy week here. We are living in the house or should I say living and existing in 1 small bedroom in the house. We moved in Sunday and have had to shuffle our mattresses and belongings from one side of the house to the other the last few day while work has been done in one room or the other. On Wednesday night at about 2:00 am one fire alarm started beeping and then at 5:00 they all started to beep and squeak and go off, after about 20 minutes our security alarm started announcing that the fire alarms were going off. Needless to say to was a little crazy while we tried to figure out how to fix the problem which was either a battery, or dust in the alarms, not sure which be we vacuumed them and changed the batteries on the advice of the fire department. Enough about me, tell me what fun did you get up to this week and what are your plans for the weekend?
Even though the internet was a little spotty this week at the house I found some scrumptious recipes, and some interesting articles that you might like so settle in with a cup of your favorite coffee, cocoa or wine and enjoy!

Books
This week to escape from the dust and noise I went to my new library and brought home a stack of books. I have a feeling I am going to be spending a lot of time at this charming little place, there are comfy couches, a fireplace and so many interesting people to talk to.
Here are the three books that I have on my pile to read this weekend.

Those recipes are perfect for summer! And I love all of these dresses! They are so pretty!
Oh Elizabeth … I so related to your alarm at 2am story. Why do these things happen in the middle of the night? And, your poor doggies. Ugh. Congrats on moving into the new house … even though I know it’s going to be an interesting time while you do the work. It’s still a step forward, right?! Easy for me to say! I’m in love with your library too … and an amazing escape and santuary. Thanks for all the great links for the weekend … and I think I found a dress for an upcoming wedding. So thanks for that too!!! xo
Fire alarms going are never a good thing, but at least this was explainable.
The recipes you shared look so good!
Lily and the Octopus was one of my DNF books. I just could not get into it. However, I loved Rowley’s book Guncle. I highly recommend!
So so so many beautiful dresses to choose from! And that stuffed avocado looks SO yummy!
Sounds like you have a great library! Happy reading Elizabeth!
