Christmas time is here, at least at my house. There is a little overlap of holiday decor in the house, a vintage turkey in the bookcase and the dining room still has piles of pumpkins. But that’s ok because both are my “favorite holidays.” This little tree makes me smile every time I walk by, the little birds, the whimsical handmade signs and the okra angel tree topper holding a pinecone in one arm and an acorn in the other, made just for me by my friend, artist @marianbuisfineart . The Christmas boxes are origami, I purchased them this weekend at a Christmas fair. Then I added piles of Christmas books, a mouse couple, a few houses and a cathedral. Hello friends! Thank you so very much for your kin

Hello friends! Thank you so very much for your kinds comments and prayers for Patches! She is doing better today after another day at the vet for tests, fluids, antibiotics, pain medication and more. She ate a tablespoon of food today and drank a little water for the first time in 3 days. She goes back to the vet tomorrow for more of the same. For those who have asked she has a GI tract infection which came after she got sick last Friday morning. From that she had terrible bathroom issues which then essentially caused a bad case of diaper rash exacerbated by her licking it. All of that then caused a whole host of other problems. Needless to say she is in pain inside and out. As we just moved here we did not have a vet, we called 4 offices and were told they could not see her because of a Covid backup and they all told us to drive to an emergency vet in Chapel Hill, NC(11/2hrsaway)Thankfully I met a woman at the grocery store who told me the name of her vet on Sunday afternoon. Monday morning before they opened we were sitting outside the office and begged them to help us and even though the schedule was filled for the day they said yes. Patches is in good hands and hopefully we will see more improvements in the coming days. Thank you again for all of your prayers, that are needed and appreciated. #patchesthepup #pineconeandacorns #dachshund
