Good morning friends and a happy Friday to you. Are you ready for the weekend? Me too! It has been so hot here this week I am drained. Tonight my niece is coming over for a sleepover and she want me to teach her how to make spaghetti and meatballs and brownie sundaes. Honestly, I could do without the spaghetti and meatballs and just have the brownie sundae for dinner but I do not think my brother would appreciate that. What are your plans for the weekend?
I have lots to share today so pull up a chair and get yourself a beverage because I think you are going to be here for a while.
Food
I scream you scream we all scream for ice cream! I made this no-churn vanilla bean ice cream and my favorite brownies and all I have left to make is some hot fudge(I will share the recipe with you next week) and white some whipped cream and the brownie hot fudge sundaes will be ready.
What do you get when you combine pepperoni pizza and pasta? Pepperoni pizza lasagna rollups!
I shared my favorite summer salad this week, this Arugula Fig Salad is another that you will want to add to your menu or perhaps Summer Peach Fig and Prosciutto Salad.
I grilled corn this past week and have a few ears left, I think I am going to make this Grilled Corn Guacamole. and to accompany it how about a refreshing Blueberry Cilantro Margarita?

Hi dear one – it’s taking me at least two mugs of coffee to read through all your great post today! So much of interest that’s for sure. You are great to give us news about so many things, especially books and food – after all who could survive without both, lol!
Fall can’t come soon enough – what a beastly August so far – and today it will rain all afternoon and evening by looks of it, and the humidity is awful. I’m just useless here in summertime – energy drained and projects pushed to the back burner which makes me so antsy knowing I’m getting nothing done.
Stay well – hope things are moving along for you.
Hugs- Mary
Mary, as I am not far from you I am experiencing the same heat and humidity. It is terrible! I think that you should just relax and wait for the cooler weather and when it arrives you will have time to take up your tasks.
A truly superlative Friday list!
That cashmere scarf is in my cart….
I love that scarf! I think it is a great piece for Fall and Winter.
First of all, Bezos looks ridiculous in a cowboy hat. Someone should tell him that. Loved the choices and links. I started a new book last night about a young woman trying to make her way after losing her parents to Nazis in the 1940s. Terrifying to even think about. But now the world around us has become yet another scary time with so many factions battling one another over, of all things, masks and vaccines. I’m tired of us fighting the anti-vaxxers, who are taking up hospital beds the rest of us might need for another illness.
