Good morning friends, it’s National Pumpkin day, who knew. Halloween is on Sunday, are you ready? Is the house decorated? Do you have your costume ready for any parties you are attending or just to hand out candy? Speaking of candy, do you have a favorite Halloween candy? I like Reeses peanut butter pumpkins, tootsie rolls and Twix bars. There is still time to make, bake and decorate to celebrate with your family and friends if you answered no to any of the previous questions.

7 Halloween aka Spooky Season Sweet Treats and Desserts

Today I am sharing some of my favorite homemade sweet treats for Halloween that are not only delicious but are easy to make and are always “fan” favorites at parties and gatherings.

Marshmallow Spider Web Cake pinecones and acorns

Marshmallow Spiderweb Cake, you can make any flavor cake and decorate it with frosting and the marshmallow webs. You could also purchase a cake and decorate it.

Pumpkin Carrot Cake Cupcakes with Buttercream frosting

Halloween Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting. are piled high with colorful sprinkles that all the kids love.

Three cupcakes decorates with orange and green frosting to look like pumpkins on a white platter with a small pink of milk

Pumpkin Patch Cupcakes

Pumpkin Patch Cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting and lots of orange sugar.

Halloween chocolate covered oreos Pinecones and Acorns

Halloween Chocolate Covered Oreos, everyone loves Oreo’s especially if they are covered in chocolate. I make these for every season because my grandkids love them.

Moist Chocolate Pumpkin Bread Pinecones & Acorns

Moist pumpkin Bread isn’t a spooky treat but a classic. You can “jazz” it up with some holiday chocolate candies or decorate the top with some chopped candy bars.

Chocolate Mummy Cake Halloween Pinecones & Acorns

Chocolate Mummy Cake Pinecones and Acorns, is simply a cake or cupcakes with bandages of frosting. If you do not have time to make your own frosting you can purchase it and a little known fact most store bakeries will sell you a quart of frosting. I haven’t purchased one yet but I know a lot of people that do and they love it.

Monster Munch Halloween Popcorn and Candy Mix

Halloween Monster Munch of Popcorn and Candy Pinecones and Acorns, get out your pop corn popper, melt some chocolate and add some halloween candy like M&M’s, Reeses pieces or whatever else you like to add to your chocolate covered popcorn.

Do you have a “go to” recipe for Halloween treats that you like to make to take to parties? If so please share it with us, I love learning new recipes.

If you need a little inspiration and some easy decorating ideas I have a few to share.

Easy Decorations for Halloween

Good morning Elizabeth! Am having a slice of pumpkin bread and reading your latest.

Every year I wear – unironically – a vintage 1980s appliqued Halloween vest. Remember when those holiday sweaters were all the rage? Yeah, I kept mine 🙂

A few years ago I got inspired by the kitchen scene in “Meet Me in St. Louis” where they were making the special Halloween cake…so I always order mine from Williams-Sonoma 🙂

On Halloween Day we’ll walk through a historic cemetery, roast pumpkin seeds, and hand out candy in the evening – already went to Costco and bought 5 big bags; we get quite a crowd.

    Happy Halloween!

Amy, pumpkin bread for breakfast is just the way to start the day. A Halloween vest is perfect, you never have to think about a costume. I remember when holidays sweaters were the rage too, I loved them. I’ve never had a cake from WS, are they good? Have a wonderful Halloween, your day sounds lovely.

WS cakes are great! I also always have a box of their chocolate croissants in my freezer – every Friday I have one as a breakfast treat.
