Good Saturday morning friends, how are you? It is a chilly morning here and we are off this morning to the Farmers Market, then to a holiday market and on Sunday to the Festival of Trees. It is the “most wonderful time of the year” and we are making the most of it.
Saturday Meanderings
Thursday is Thanksgiving, do you have your menu planned? We just finalized our plans last night, I am in charge of the 4 pies, a salad, and sweet potatoes, my husband is making oyster casserole and smoking a turkey breast and my sister-in-law and brother are doing the rest, including roasted turkey, dressing, corn casserole, wild rice, yeast roll and gravy. All of this is on top of a morning at the blessing of the hounds where people “tailgate” with ham biscuits, breakfast burritos, champagne, lox and bagels, cookies, cinnamon rolls, cocktails and so much more. I am definitely going to need stretchy pants on Friday. What is on your menu for Thanksgiving? What is your favorite thing(s) to cook?
How sweet is this video to get you in the holiday mood? I want a coffee shop like this!
Holiday Pep Talk
Just a reminder before all of the holiday hooplah, you are not going to get everything done that you want to(neither and I), some people(including yourself) might be disappointed or sad or mad around this time of the year and that is ok. Holidays are not about gifts or how much money you spend, they are about being with family and friends or simply taking some time to be alone and to enjoy your life, to take a break and to rest, relax and regroup. We have all had a rough two years give yourself grace and take some time to be grateful for all that you have, family, friends, your health, all more valuable than a gift.
Today I am sharing a few Thanksgiving things, some Christmas things and more, enjoy!

Christmas Baking
When do you start baking for Christmas? I like to start on Black Friday and then ship the first few day of December, that way I have time to enjoy the rest of the holiday activities. Do you bake just for your family or do you bake for family and friends too? What is your favorite cookie recipe? I love sugar cookies, I do not have the patience to decorate them though and I am in awe of people like the talented Lorena Rodríguez.Incidentally, if you are a cookie decorator or simply an admirer of the artistry of sugar cookies, you will love The Cookie Connection. The Cookie Connection is a blog/forum/community of people from all over the world that share their designs, tips, tricks and more.
My favorite cookies to make are rugelach and snowballs.
Fun Finds
Books are the gift that keeps on giving. If you are a LV fan you might enjoy Louis Vuitton: The Birth of Modern Luxury. You can find it and more fabulous book at TJ Maxx!
You can here go wrong with a classic cashmere sweater! This whimsical sweater is another favorite of mine. There are so many great pieces at Anthropologie right now, and many are on sale.
I love perfume, I don’t care if is cheap, expensive or somewhere in between, if it smells good on me I will take it. Lollia is one of my favorite brands, you can find it at most department stores, Anthropologie and sometimes TjMaxx and Marshalls(especially at the holidays) I bought Lollia Imagine Eau De Parfum yesterday and it might just be my new favorite!
And there are lots of Black Friday deals happening already! I found my favorite soap, a few books and more.

Great encouragement about the holiday season, Elizabeth. We won’t get everything done that we want to and in the end it really is ok
