Good morning friends, are you ready for the big meal? We finished shopping yesterday, today I am making cookies and pies. Tomorrow after the blessing of the hounds we will make the rest of the sides and then “over the river…”, or just a quick ride down the street to my brothers. That my friends is the best part of the day.
Thanksgiving Pep or Prep Talk
I just wanted to remind you that the best and most important part of the day is the people who you share the meal with, the friends, family and strangers who have come from near and far to be a part of your holiday. I know that we all like to have the perfect meal and beautiful house but sometimes life gets in the way and we burn the beans or forget to raise the yeast rolls. No one cares about any of that, they are there to be with you and share the love and fellowship of the day. They are all as thankful and grateful for you as you are for them, remember that and have a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!

Last but not least, it’s all about thanks and gratitude! Look for the moments in the day or weekend to find both.
What to Do With Thanksgiving Leftovers
I won’t lie, I hate leftovers and try not to have too much leftover to have to eat it for two or three days after but there are a lot of people that love them and so I thought I would share a few ideas.
- Turkey pot pie, you can use the turkey, carrots, potatoes, etc.
- turkey sandwiches
- turkey soup
- turkey frittata
- Turkey enchiladas
- Quiche made with vegetables and maybe even a little turkey
- Pancakes with cranberry sauce
- Use leftover cranberry sauce to make a “crisp” with apples or put it on your oatmeal
- Make a pumpkin pie milkshake!
Have a wonderful, blessed and happy Thanksgiving my friends.
