“I am going to try to pay attention to the spring. I am going to look around at all the flowers, and look up at the hectic trees. I am going to close my eyes and listen.” — Anne Lamot
Good morning friends, can you believe tomorrow is the first day of Spring? It seems like just yesterday I was putting up the Christmas tree. Time seems to go faster as I age, do you ever feel like that or is it just me?
Today I’m joining my friends Kim of Northern California Style and Juliet of Make Mine a Spritzer to share our weekend roundup so after you finish here make sure to hop on over to their blogs to see what they are up to this morning.
I read the quote above by Ann Lamont a few days ago and I decided that it would be a great “motto” not just for Spring but for all seasons. There is a lot going on in the world right now and it is scary and depressing. Why not take the time to stop enjoy the flowers, the buds on the trees, the birds chirping and the animals playing? The natural world is waking up from its long winter nap and it can soothe your soul, put a spring in your step, elevate your mood, and offer a moment of calm during these dark days, if you don’t believe me why not see what the experts have to say.
5 Spring Green Finds
There are many shades of green but “spring green” is special, it is the first burst of vibrant grass, flowers, and vegetables that we see as Spring approaches. Today I thought I would share a few of the “spring green” finds I have discovered lately.

Drinking your morning chocolate, coffee or tea from this is sure to make you smile.
Flower arranging is not my strong suit but I think I could attempt this fruit and flower arrangement made items from your local grocery store.

In case you missed it this week, I shared some easy and delicious cream cheese danish and my favorites from this week, books, recipes, finds and more. You can read all about it on Friday Favorites.

You’re right the world is scary right now.
I’ll miss my cozy days of winter. But seeing robins in the yard yesterday and the birds chirping made me happy.
I’m going to embrace it all and watch my lilac buds grow and my daffodils bloom and celebrate.

Elizabeth, I am clearly not awake as I thought Friday post was Saturday. I love Spring greens and even did a post on them once. The colors are so beautiful. I am definitely trying the side dish. I want to collect more of these green leaf sizes like the cup and saucer. I have a few and always love having them at Easter and now! That green dress is beautiful! I’m checking to out now. xx Kim

That flower arrangement is beautiful, I may have to try it next weekend when we are hosting a little birthday party. My only tip for macarons is do not embark upon the project on a rainy or humid day. Something I heard from someone who worked at Ladurée years ago— it makes a difference in texture, even for the pros!
Elizabeth says
Christina, I was thinking of tying the floral arrangement too! I cannot wait to see what you create for the party! I know it will be amazing. I have yet to make macarons, I don’t have the patience. Thank you for the tips! Have a wonderful week, give Gracie a hug!
