Monday morning musings -a lazy weekend, a kitchen update and 5 finds for your home, wardrobe and book stack.
Good Monday morning friends, I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. The weather was hot, sunny and beautiful here. I spent dust free mornings on the porch reading with the pups and enjoying the silence. Sunday we met my brother and family and the club to sit by the pool for a but. Aside from that we did a little work in the yard, and cleaned up as much dust as we could before the work starts again today.
In case you missed it Juliet and Kim and I shared our weekly series Weekend Meanderings. We shared 4th of July food, books, wedding outfits, staycation ideas and so much more. You can see it here.

Kitchen Renovation Update
It was a busy week at the house, the kitchen demo took 4 days, and now is a blank slate. The dust, mess and the noise was only bad one day and we all survived. I am not sure which was worse, the barking dogs or the removal of the tile. I think the dogs.
This week is is all about the electrical and the plumbing. Our current kitchen has a lot of outlets, in fact on one wall there are 6! The plan is to have all the electrical under the cabinets and nothing on the walls, hopefully that will work out.
As for the plumbing, we have to move the plumbing for the sink about 6 inches not too bad, the plumbing for the pot filler and the refrigerator will be across the room and will go through the ceiling because we are on a slab.
In the laundry it is the same, moving electrical and plumbing to accommodate the new appliances and layout.
Nothing pretty to show or report but it is all exciting in my book. You can follow along on Instagram where I post updates every morning.
5 Finds
I have not been being anything but I do have a few things in my cart and I thought I would share a few just in case you want to get something for yourself.
I love the color green and lately I have been finding some beautiful green pieces, this green and white dress is one of my favorites! This dress is also beautiful, more of a tunic and 1/2 the price, and also on sale. I am thinking of buying this green leather tote, what do you think?
I love this entire outfit, especially the dress. bracelet// dress//sandals//glasses//tote
Another beach read to add to your stack, A Rose Petal Summer. You can read it “free” with your Kindle Unlimited subscription.
I just discovered Sanctuary Home and I could spend hours looking at Karens’ beautiful homes, gardens and projects. If you are not familiar with Sanctuary Homes get yourself a cup of chocolate or tea and settle in for awhile.
Oh my goodness, look at these scrumptious brownie shortbread bars with ganache! I am drooling on my computer they look so good. I cannot wait to have an oven to make these.
I hope that you have a wonderful week my friends and that you enjoy my musings and finds. Before you go, tell me:
What did you do this weekend?
What did you make? Did you barbecue? Or make a tasty treat?

Thank you William, you as well.
Exciting about the kitchen. The dust is the worst. I have to Dachshunds bark for hours is tough.
Our Reeses sounds like a German Shepard. Peanut a typical Doxie
Hope you share kitchen progress.
Thank you Cindy, we are very excited. Dachshunds are the best dogs, stubborn, cute, tenacious and did I mention stubborn.
I’d love to have some of that chocolate dessert! In apartments, you don’t have many electrical outlets. So the ones you do have are prized.
Brenda
Brenda, hello! I am so happy that you are “up and about”. Do not over tax yourself, make sure to take it easy and rest. If I have a kitchen I would send you a treat! Have a great week.
Figuring out plumbing and electrical is so important, but so not exciting! The good stuff is coming soon! xo
Juliet, you are so right. Because we are on a slab the new plumbing is going in the ceiling(eek). Electrical is finished for now, plumbing is being moved as I type this and things are moving along. It’s all good. As I have said many times over the last week, ever day gets me one day closer to my kitchen
Such a beautiful post-Elizabeth. I too love Karen from Sanctuary home.
I enjoyed all of your great dress suggestions. I will have to go shopping.
Thank you Wendy! Have a wonderful week.
Good luck with your kitchen renovation, sounds like a huge job! Can’t wait to see the finished project! This weekend I made a frozen key lime pie, very easy and good! Have a great week, Donna
Yes, it is a big project but we are so excited!
I can’t wait to see how your kitchen turns out! I follow Sanctuary Home on IG- such a pretty account! Happy summer!
Thank you Marie, it is going to be exciting!
