Monday Musings No. 50, a weekend update + 5 Things: what I read, watched, and discovered this weekend and more.
Good Monday morning musings friends. How was your weekend?
It was a busy one here. I felt as if I was running from morning til night. Baking cookies, wrapping gifts, packing boxes, and getting ready to ship everything out today.
Saturday we went to a cocktail party and had a wonderful time. It is so nice to sit and relax with friends, add in lots of scrumptious food and conversation and it’s a perfect evening.
Musings
Christmas is 13 days away friends. It is time to take a minute and look at your to do list. Cross off a few things, like cards, fancy wrapping and a few batches of cookies. The next 2 weeks are going to fly by and you are going to miss all of the fun if you keep everything on your list.
Nobody cares if they receive a card after Christmas, or if there is one less cookie on the dessert platter. Your friends and family care if you are there with them enjoying game night, movie night, caroling and all of your favorite activities.
It is your presence not the presents that is the gift this season and everyday.
Today is the last day for any gift, cookie, candy, etc that is leaving this house. Tomorrow I will be watching movies with hot chocolate and baking bear claws for me to enjoy the next few days.
Happy holidays friends, enjoy!
+5 THINGS
1. READ
‘Every day is a perfect day to read this heartwarming Christmas gem’ Shari Low
When Jenny inherits her estranged grandmother’s cottage in Sherwood Forest, she has nothing to lose – no money, no job, no friends, no family to speak of, and zero self-respect. Things can only get better…
Her grumpy, but decidedly handsome new neighbour, Mack, has a habit of bestowing unsolicited good deeds on her. And when Jenny is welcomed into a rather unusual book club, life seems to finally be getting more interesting.
Instead of reading, the members pledge to complete individual challenges before Christmas: from finding new love, learning to bake, to completing a daredevil bucket list. Jenny can’t resist joining in, and soon a year of friendship and laughter, tears and regrets unfolds in the most unexpected ways.

Are you finished shopping for the holidays? If not here are a few of my favorite books for children and adults, gifts for bakers, a few stocking stuffers and more.
I love these colorful mugs! They would make a great stocking stuffer or add them to a box with pajamas and hot chocolate or coffee, a candle to make a wonderful gift box.

I love that framed artwork with the rhinestone tree in that gorgeous gold frame. May just have to make one of them for my home. Love the Christmas Outfits too! I miss going to Christmas Parties where you dress in cocktail wear. Companies just do not have these types are parties any more. People have more casual dinner parties. I love to dress up.
Elizabeth says
Tammy, I think that is a great idea! I would love to see what you make! I am already saving pieces so that I can make one myself next year.
I miss holiday parties where people dress up but you know what, dress up at your own party or on Christmas with your family.
Have a wonderful week.
William Kendall says
I avoid Christmas parties in general.
