A decadent, delicious dessert for Valentine’s Day or anytime. This vegan chocolate ganache mousse is easy to make with only four ingredients.

Vegan chocolate ganache mousse in 2 cups with hearts on a white tray.

Good morning friends, have I got a treat for you. An easy and delicious dark chocolate ganache mousse recipe. This decadent dessert is vegan and made with only 4 ingredients. If you are a dark chocolate lover you can make it with just 2 ingredients!

I made a similar recipe a year or two ago but you whisked the mousse mixture. This week while perusing Instagram @jakecohen made a mousse with the same ingredients but he used a blender to mix it. Genius, and a heck of a lot easier than whisking over a bowl of ice until you reach the right consistency.

Chocolate Ganache Mousse

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and if you don’t feel like making my chocolate Valentine’s Day cupcakes or baking heart shaped cake this chocolate ganache mousse is the perfect sweet treat.

two white cups with colorful hearts sitting on a white tray filled with dark chocolate mouse and topped with whipped cream.

What is Chocolate Ganache Mousse Made Of?

  • almond milk
  • honey
  • vanilla extract
  • kosher salt
  • dark chocolate

How Do You Make Vegan Chocolate Mousse?

In a medium saucepan, combine the honey, almond milk and salt over medium-high heat. Whisk together and cook until the mixture just begins to get little bubbles around the edges and starts to steam.

Add the chopped chocolate to your blender, then add the hot almond milk mixture. Blend until smooth.

Pour the mixture into cups or jars and let cool. Cover and chill overnight.

Garnish with almond whipped cream(vegan) or regular whipped cream and a sprinkle of chocolate.

How Long Will Chocolate Ganache Mousse Last?

Chocolate ganache mousse will last in the refrigerator 4-5 days.

Notes & Tips

  • Use good quality chocolate, 60% dark chocolate chips  or more. I used TCHO 70%.
  • Add a flavoring if you like, coffee, brandy, amaretto, or a little heat with cayenne or chipotle or cinnamon.
  • You can use regular milk if you don’t like almond milk or you are not vegan.
  • Because this mixture is hot, follow the instructions for your blender, you do not want to be injured making a dessert. I follow the directions from Vitamix, you can find other tips here.

Ingredients

Scale

4 cups almond milk

1/2 cup honey

1 teaspoon almond or vanilla extract

1 teaspoon kosher salt

3 cups dark chocolate

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine the honey, almond milk and salt over medium-high heat, whisk together and cook until the mixture just begins to get little bubbles around the edges and to steam.

Add the chocolate to your blender then add the hot almond milk mixture. Blend until smooth.

Pour the mixture into cups or jars and let cool. Cover and chill overnight.

Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of chocolate.

Notes

This recipe is from @jakecohen

The original recipe calls for almond extract, I used vanilla.

You can use any dark chocolate, but use good dark chocolate, at least 60%. I used Tcho.

Because this mixture is hot, be sure to follow the directions that come with your blender. Do not fill your blender more that 1/2 way with hot liquid.  You do not want to be injured making a dessert.

    Respectfully, I’d like to add a disclaimer…
There is NO way the left over ganache will last 4-5 days in my refrigerator!!!
This recipe will be quickly and delightfully devoured at its first serving!
    A must-make for any special occasion !
Thank you Elizabeth for sharing a dessert that is simple to make and delicious

This recipe looks soooo good! I am moving it from my Valentine Cloche party to this week’s Share Your Style #378 for you, Elizabeth. I realized that a number of folks hadn’t seen that that particular party was just a cloche post. Very limited. I will create more link parties in the future! 🙂

Anyway, I love the two recipes you shared and moved both. <3
Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day,
    Hugs,
    Barb 🙂
