Good Saturday morning friends, how are you?

Today I am joining Kim and Juliet for weekend meanderings, our weekly series of things that caught our eye and piqued our interest.

It’s March friends, the in between month where somedays it feels like Spring and other days it is winter. The daffodils wave in the breeze and brave the cold and rain one moment and the next glow in the rays of the sun.

The pollen is terrible. I have never had allergies in my life until I moved to the “land of the pines” and this week I have felt horrible. My ears hurt, my eyes itch and my head throbs. Everything is covered in green and when the wind blows clouds of pollen fall from the trees.

Kim and I were talking about allergies and she has them too. She also told me something I did not know, allergies are a symptom of menopause. Like the hot flashes and night sweats are not enough, now we can add allergies to the mix. By the way that is not limited to seasonal allergies, you may also get food allergies in menopause.

Ok, let’s get to the good stuff!

WEEKEND MEANDERINGS

Steve Cordony

If you have been on Instagram for any length of time you are probably familiar with Steve Cordony, Australia’s interior and lifestyle designer and his home Rosedale Farm,

Wander Steve Cordony's idyllic country garden at Rosedale Farm, the front of the large White House.

This gorgeous farmhouse from the 1840s’ was purchased 6 years ago and lovingly restored by and brought back to life by Steve and his partner.

Sharing tips to style tables, rooms and to host events on Instagram has led to a Master Class held on the farm a future farm shop and nursery.

The good news is that now you can stay at the farm! This past week Steve announced that Rosedale Farm is available to let, the main house sleeps 12! Don’t need the whole house, rent the old workers quarters!

In 2024 the farm shop and nursery will open and of course you can take one of Steves’ Master Classes!

I wish I had a trip planned to Australia so that I could see this amazing place in person. In the meantime I will have to follow along on Instagram and the blog.

On a side note, if you love Steves’ style you can hire him to design your space. Visit The Expert for more details.

Jake Arnold for Crate & Barrel

Have you seen the new Jake Arnold collection at Crate & Barrel?  LA based designer to the stars, including John Legend  and Katy Perry, has just released a 50 piece collection with Crate & Barrel.

The inspiration behind the collection was to make high-end design accessible to everyone and includes items for the living, dining, bedroom as well as accessories and tabletop.

I love these chairs, this small table, these pillows and these candle holders.

Incidentally, Jake is the co-founder of The Expert. If you love interior design, or are looking for a designer check out The Expert.

St. Patrick’s Day Desserts

Baileys caramel brownie terrine

Bailey’s Caramel Brownie Terrine with Whipped Cream

I love brownies, bread pudding and Bailey’s Irish Cream, lucky for me I found a recipe that combines these three tasty ingredients and the result is a chocolatey dessert filled with pockets of caramel, topped with creamy Irish cream shimmed cream.

You will love the delicious combination of dark chocolate cupcakes and Bailey’s buttercream frosting.

Bailey’s Hot Chocolate

This isn’t really a recipe, all you do is make your favorite hot chocolate recipe and add a shot of Bailey’s Irish cream.

Guinness Stout Brownies with a Chocolate Drizzle

These brownies are dense, moist, and fudgy, more like baked fudge than a brownie. The stout gives a little bit of a nutty flavor and the coffee makes the chocolate more rich.

  1. Well I have to start by saying how much I love your kitchen and your flowers. The island in wood is perfect! So you Elizabeth. Love the windows and blinds too. Did you share about all that and I missed it? Sure would love to see more of this space.
Yes the darn allergies. I feel like I am battling them now fall and spring and I never had them and lived here my entire life. I was surprised to know women have them worse in menopause and it is in part due to our super sensitive immune systems.
I can’t live on allergy meds and they make me feel weird, but I have been surviving by taking a half a Claritin about once a week our twice if it is a tough week. Seems to help somewhat. Now everything is blooming like nuts here after these crazy rains… You could also have allergy shots.
The Bailey’s desserts look so good! I don’t even have any. Maybe I should get some for at least a hot chocolate..
Rue Clar is a great street. We once rented on Rue Montergueil for a week which is nearby. I need to go back to Paris!
Have a lovely weekend. I am pinning all your pretty kitchen shots.
    xo

  2. Elizabeth, your kitchen looks phenomenal! I know you must be thrilled to have that project behind you and to now be enjoying its beauty! Steve C is amazing and I love following his IG. Staying at his home would be a dream come true. Your St. Patrick’s Day desserts look divine … of course. Hard to believe it’s already March. I’m so sorry about your allergies. Ugh. And I didn’t know that about menopause. Sigh. Hope you have a great weekend and feel a lot better than you did during the week. xo

  3. Loving glimpses of your kitchen. Your posts are always a treasure trove of so many great resources! I love traveling the bunny holes with you. Happy Sunday!

  4. Elizabeth,
The home and garden in Australia looks lovely, but what I’m dying to see is MORE of your kitchen! It looks stunning. Those floors! Did I miss the big reveal post?
    xx
