A round-up of easy and delicious Memorial Day desserts, including cakes, bars, brownies and pies.
10 Memorial Day Desserts
Good morning! I hate to wish away the days but I cannot wait for Friday! Long weekends are the best, especially if they involve a BBQ with lots of desserts. If you have party plans for the “unofficial start to summer” I have rounded up 10 easy and delicious Memorial Day desserts that you will want to make and to share.
1. White Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting
These cupcakes are so easy that I make them for both Memorial Day and 4th of July. The cupcakes and the cake below start with a white cake mix!
That said, if you don’t have the add ins just make the cake and cupcakes using the directions on the side of the mix. Then frost and decorate with patriotic sprinkles and colored sugar. Let the kids do this part they will love it.
2. White Cake Piled High with Frosting and Fresh Berries
Again, this cake starts with a mix, pile on the frosting or whipped cream, add some fresh berries and you have a quick, easy, delicious dessert.
3. Roasted Vanilla Bean Cherries over No-Bake Cheesecake
Summer is all about cherries. I can eat pounds and pounds of them but I also love to bake with them. This recipe could not be easier, you simply roast the cherries with vanilla bean paste and pour them over your favorite no-bake cheesecake. They would be delicious over ice cream and pound cake as well.
4. Cherry Slab Pie
This pie can be made with homemade pie crust or you can buy the pie crust and roll it out. Then add canned cherry pie filling, bake and frost. It could not be any easier.
5. Almond Cheesecake Bars
Like cheesecake but easier.
6.Apple Crumble Bars
The recipe is simple, you make a shortbread crust, add the cinnamon sugar apples, top with a crumble, bake and voila, apple crumble bars!
7. Chocolate Peanut butter Rice Krispie Treats
Every BBQ has a pile of Rice Krispie Treats, so why not change it up a bit and make Chocolate Peanut butter Rice Krispie Treats?
8. Chocolate Snack Cake
Chocolate snack cake smothered in Hershey’s perfectly chocolate frosting. This family favorite isthe answer to all of your chocolate cravings. I dare you not to lick the spoon!
9. Caramel Stuffed Brownies
You can never go wrong with brownies! These caramel stuffed brownies will disappear from your Memorial Day dessert table.
10. Lemon Loaf Cake
Something a little lighter, lemon loaf cake. Perfect for those who don’t like chocolate.
