There is nothing more enjoyable than a barbecue. Here are my 10 favorite 4th of July barbecue foods.
How is your week going so far friends? I am in “vacation” mode and ready to celebrate and enjoy my family, friends, fireworks and food on the 4th of July. I love bbq’s so today I am sharing 10 of my favorite 4th of July BBQ foods. Enjoy!
4th of July Food Hot off the Grill
1. Grilled Sausages or brats served with your favorite toppings. Add hamburgers and hot dogs to the grill as well and you will have something for everyone! Make a condiment bar with onions, relish, mustard, ketchup and maybe the fixings for a Chicago style hot dog.
2. Plan ahead so that you can make the best Pulled Pork Sandwiches with lots of spicy bbq sauce. If you haven’t tried Lexington dipping sauce on your pulled pork you are in for a treat.
3. Baby Back Ribs, are always a popular meat at any BBQ so be sure to make extra so your guests can have seconds!
Barbecue Side Dishes
Most cookouts feature an assortment of side dishes. And when you think about it the possibilities are endless. Personally I like to stick to the classics, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw and corn on the cob.

4. Baked Beans are a very popular side dish. There are a lot of great recipes you can use, this one from The Recipe Critic is made from scratch and is delicious! But if you want to take a shortcut used canned beans and doctor them up with bacon, brown sugar and other condiments like in this recipe.

5. Old Fashioned Potato Salad is my absolute favorite thing to eat at a BBQ. I prefer simple, with celery, onions, eggs and mayonnaise but you can add dill, blue cheese and many other condiments to make a delicious salad.
If you are serving it at your BBQ make sure to keep it cool along with any other side dishes, salads and fruit.

6. Blue Cheese Coleslaw my second favorite thing to eat at bbq’s and picnics.
I actually am all about the side dishes, the more variety the better. What about you? Are you “team side” or “team grilled meat?” Do you have a favorite side dish? Or a family recipe for potato salad or cole slaw that your want to share?

7. Grilled Corn, Peach and Tomato Salad is an easy and delicious salad to serve at your gathering because you can change the ingredients to suit your taste. If you don’t like peaches skip them and add some black beans, and squash.
You can also serve macaroni and cheese, pasta salad, dips and chips and grilled corn and vegetables.
Barbecue sides are regional, in the South you might find orca, fried green tomatoes and collard greens, in the Midwest, you might find 7 layer salad and deviled eggs. There are many that I have not included here feel free to serve whatever you and your guests like.
BBQ Desserts
Desserts are everyones favorite part of a meal so don’t just stop at one. Make your favorite cookies, candy, bars, brownies, ice cream, cake, and cheesecake. More is best especially on a long holiday weekend. If your cook-out is on the day of the fireworks you can pack up some of the desserts and take them with you to munch on as you watch the show.

8. Red, White and Blue Popsicles are a great dessert for kids and the young at heart! I remember getting these popsicles from the ice cream man on hot summer days this year I think I will try to make these. Here is another option using sports drinks.
9. Brownies, peanut butter Rice Krispie treats, cupcakes or all three.
10. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup S’mores or traditional s’mores are a fun treat, especially if it is cool enough to have a campfire. Set up a s’mores bar with graham crackers, cookies, your favorite candy bars, and marshmallows and let your guest enjoy one last treat before they head home.

I just heard a great podcast about the origin of popsicles–it's on "Missed In History Class," which is consistently fun and interesting.
Dear, dear Elizabeth, HELLO!!!!!!!!!!
You do know that there are times I simply cannot get into your blog but I took a chance as I saw that you visited my blog, and I got in!
Where do I even begin here….it's been so long since I've had a proper journey into Blogland and so much has changed. First of all, I wish you the best and most fun Fourth of July with all those whom you love. The food ideas look marvelous! Thank you so much for visiting my blog post. I was just thinking, "Will anyone even see it?" There you were.
The peonies here enjoyed a later but longer season. They gave me constant joy as I walked the neighborhoods and I can say that every single day of my summer vacation that started the first week of June has been a magical event. Nothing HUGE, just those simple moments of overwhelming joy.
Big love to you Elizabeth and may your Summer Symphony be an operatic expression of the love within you.
I've made pulled pork sandwiches where you put the pork loin in the crock pot overnight and then the following morning pour a can of Dr. Pepper or root beer over it. Makes fantastic sandwiches.

Have a good Fourth of July!
I'm definitely coming to your next BBQ :p
Good suggestions!
