MONDAY MUSINGS NO. 102
Good Monday morning friends! How was your weekend?
We had a wonderful weekend filled with lots of laughs, family, movies, food, and fun celebrating my dads 85th birthday. He and my sister are leaving back to the Midwest this morning, I am off to a few appointments and then we have a dinner party Thursday. My mom arrives on the 18th, then it’s Christmas and then 2024. Whew, it is going to be a busy 3 weeks.
Thursday I shared a virtual cookie exchange with my friends, did you check out all of the beautiful cookies? I made the dough for a couple of them yesterday to add to my cookie trays next week.
This week I am wrapping gifts, making baskets and mailing packages. I am adding vintage brooches to my gifts to make them extra special.
I personally think homemade gifts are make great gifts, chutney, pickles, homemade Irish cream, ice cream toppings, cookie trays, the list is endless. Do you have a homemade gift that you love to receive or to give?
What did you do this weekend? Are you making time to enjoy the holidays?
Ok, enough about me let’s get the +5 Things.

Fairytale of New York(Free Kindle Unlimited)
Thirty-two-year-old Charlie Brown has a plane to catch.
As Christmas approaches, she is New York bound, to be reunited with boyfriend Harry after work has kept them apart.
But once she lands, Harry is nowhere to be found…
There’s no hand-drawn sign with her name being brandished at the gate. No answer from Harry’s phone. And all at once, Charlie’s worst fears come true.
What has happened to Harry? And what should Charlie do now that she’s an ocean away from home?
As Charlie slowly comes to terms with her predicament, she makes a decision. She’s not leaving New York without finding out the truth, and with a little help from her handsome new friend Pete, there might still be a path to happily-ever-after…

OUTFIT OF THE DAY
In the winter, I like to pair skirts or culottes( as in this outfit) with colorful sweaters or put together tone on tone outfits. If I were wearing a plain sweater I would add 3 brooches for a festive and seasonal look. You could add a white blouse underneath for warmth and a layered look.
