Weekend Meanderings

Good Saturday morning to you friends. It’s time for Weekend Meanderings with Juliet and Kim. Join us as we share all of the things that piqued our interests and caught our eye this week. Juliet is not feeling well this week and is taking the day  off but you could always stop by her blog and leave a get well soon message.

How was your Valentine’s Day? What did you do? Did you go out to dinner or stay home and cook? We typically stay home and cook on Valentine’s Day. It is actually the day we got engaged believe it or not, while home cooking dinner. This year we were at a rehearsal dinner for my niece who is getting married this afternoon.

Quote during this season of love focus on loving more than just those closest to you.

Aside from that the master bathroom is 98% finished! Yippee. All that is left is the little touchups to the drywall, paint, grout and a toilet lid, it came with a chip in the front. We may see it if we are lucky by April!

The powder bathroom is 95% finished, waiting on the wallpaper to arrive and then installation. I have looked at hundreds of wallpapers as I told you and from the beginning I wanted plaid wallpaper. Last week I received my samples from the UK and one is perfect. I cannot wait to see this room finished. Who am I kidding, I cannot wait to see the house put back together.

Are you working on any house projects or getting to start something? I would love to hear about them.

Ok, let’s meander.

I love discovering interesting creatives. This week I hit the jackpot, I found a French pastry chef, an amazing still life artist and an influencer and gardener. I think that you are going to love all three of these amazing and talented women..

Ainsley Durose

Ainsley is a Cordon Bleu pastry chef who lives in a 320 sq. ft apartment in Paris and creates the most scrumptious treats in her tiny kitchen. Honestly, I am in awe of her beautiful creations and the fact that she makes them in such a small space.

In addition to being a pastry chef, Ashley and her husband Lev are passionate about coffee, in fact they own and sell coffee. You can order from Durose coffee online.

Follow Ainsley on Instagram, Tik Tok and Youtube to see more of her French creations, her tiny apartment and of course Paris!

Wanderlust~Williamsburg Inn

The Williamsburg Inn.

It’s almost time for Spring break and if you have never been to Colonial Williamsburg put it on your list. Williamsburg is a special place, it is the largest outdoor educational living museum in the country, through immersive and authentic 18th-century programs. You can explore 300 acres, 89 historic buildings and learn about 20 plus historic trades. There is something for everyone!

Colonial Williamsburg Governor's Palace.

While you are there you can stay in the historic Williamsburg Inn, take in a ghost tour, and enjoy fine dining and explore this wonderful place. We lived in Va for over 13 years and our favorite time to visit Williamsburg is in the Fall and at Christmas, Spring and Summer are lovely too but in the summer it is very hot and humid.

  • Hi Elizabeth,

I’m glad your powder room and master bathroom are near completion. I know from what you shared you both have been hard at it. I’m sure it will be beautiful.

Ainsley is something else. How she can function in such a small space is a story in its self. She must be extremely organized. Her chocolate dessert is a creation of art.A very talented young pretty lady.

    Have a WONDERFUL weekend.
