MONDAY MUSINGS NO. 156

Good morning friends, happy February! Whew, I blinked and the first month of 2025 flew by. I know a lot of people felt like January was L-O-N-G, I didn’t, probably because I love Winter. The ground hog predicted another 6 weeks of winter and I am here for it.

Winter is one of the most underrated seasons in my opinion. Just because it is not hot and sunny every day and it gets dark earlier doesn’t mean there are not things to do and enjoy.

The sun still rises and sets on a winter day and it is beautiful, have you been up to watch it? When it is dark early the house is cozy and the colder weather keeps family and friends inside, meaning more time to spend with them.

Stop wishing away the days until Spring and find joy in each day.

Yesterday I was feeling much better but this morning I am still in bed with a stuffed nose, headache, and fatigue. as well as, a sore throat. Hopefully with a little rest I will be up at at it tomorrow.

What about you? How was your weekend? What did you do?

Ok, on to 5 Things!

1.READ~Eddie Winston Is Looking for Love

Eddie Winston is looking for love book cover.

If you read and enjoyed The One Hundred Years of Leni and Margot(I LOVED IT) I think you will enjoy Eddie Winston Is Looking for Love by the same author.

Eddie Winston is 90 years old. He has lived and he has loved, but he has never been kissed.

A true gentleman and incurable romantic, Eddie spends his days volunteering at a charity shop, where he sorts through the donations of the living and the dead, preserving letters and tokens of love along the way. And it is here that he meets Bella, a troubled young woman who, at 24 years old, has just lost the love of her life.

When Bella learns that Eddie is yet to have his first kiss, she resolves to help Eddie Winston finally find love, sparking an adventure that will take them to unexpected places and, they hope, bring Eddie Winston to the moment he has waited for all his life.

A tale of friendship and kindness that reminds us that those we love are never forgotten and it is never too late to try again.

  1. Feel better soon!!! A Good Year is such a “feel good” movie. I admit to watching it annually. Hubby & I used to go to the south of France every year. Now in our 80’s and no longer traveling, this movie is a wonderful replacement.

    1. Sue, you are so right, it is a feel good movie and book.
The South of France is a wonderful area to visit, what is your favorite village or town that you have visited over the years>
      Have a beautiful February.

  2. I just LOVED The Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot and did not know about this new book. Thank you – will order it today. I am with you on winter…love it, love every season. There is a beauty to these days…and thy are perfect for reading, napping, movies, and cozy meals. Have a great February!

    1. Ann, The Hundred Years of Lenin and Margot was one of my favorites that I have read the last few years. Winter has so much to offer, people just have to flip their view and stop complaining. There is beauty in every season. I count myself in this because summer is my least favorite time of the year and after weeks of heat and humidity it is a challenge to find something to be happy about.
