Stanley Tucci Taste Pinecones and Acorns

Taste by Stanley Tucci

Taste is a reflection on the intersection of food and life, filled with anecdotes about his growing up in Westchester, New York; preparing for and shooting the foodie films Big Night and Julie & Julia; falling in love over dinner; and teaming up with his wife to create meals for a multitude of children. Each morsel of this gastronomic journey through good times and bad, five-star meals and burned dishes, is as heartfelt and delicious as the last.”

The Baker’s Dozen: A Saint Nicholas Tale

Van Amsterdam the baker was well known for his honesty as well as for his fine Saint Nicholas cookies. He always gave his customers exactly what they paid for — not more and not less. So, he was not about to give in when a mysterious old woman comes to him on Saint Nicholas Day and insists that a dozen is thirteen!

Ralph Lauren black watch plaid quilted coat pinecones and acorns

By the way, a few weeks ago I sharedand thisI ordered them both for Fall and winter and I am here to give you my honest opinion on them just in case you wanted one for yourself.

I love the plaid pattern but I am not “in love” with all of the gold buttons, they are everywhere. The size is great, I have a small and it fits well but I will tell you that it is thin, this is a jacket and it is not going to keep you very warm unless you are wearing something like a cashmere sweater.

As for the blue one, I love the cut, the color and the style, it is a classic. Again, this is a jacket not a winter coat.

Pin Me for Later

Have a great weekend my friends. Thank you for coming to visit Pinecones and Acorns!

  1. Thanks for the link to the article about true crime. I lost my taste for it when I knew someone who was murdered and people started talking about it on Reddit. It really hit home to me that so many victims aren’t seen as actual people, but as mysteries to be “solved” by armchair detectives.

  2. Happy Weekend, Elizabeth! Your soup looks out of this world good, and I am ready for soup to be on repeat…thank you for being a great example and nudging me to that realization. Your pumpkin bread also looks so tempting to try – I know I would love it in spite of not being a fan of pumpkin. I want to read the Stanley Tucci book – loved his series and felt as though we all got to travel with him to Italy. The things he chose to do there are just what I would want to do! Wishing you a blessed October, friend. Thank you for the warmth shared here – we are in such short supply. xox

  3. Elizabeth, did you once link to a basket that’s suitable for throw blankets? I have a ton of blankets and want to have them in a big basket and I thought you recommended one at one point – thanks! (I may be imagining this).

    1. Hi Amy, I cannot remember if I did but the basket shown in this photo of tartan blanket was vintage and it did not fit too many. I actually have 4 vintage wicker chests that I store blankets in. We have 3 dachshunds and tons of blankets for them and we store them in a chest and then we also have a wicker chest for the down blankets/throws that I and the guests like to use. I will see if I can find any large baskets online and let you know. I have seen several nice baskets at TJmaxx and Marshalls.

  4. So many great suggestions … that plaid bowl!!! But I keep going back to the soups. I can’t get enough soup this time of year. I’ve got to get this recipes pinned and printed! xo

    1. Good morning Juliet, yes it is soup season! I love soup and this cauliflower soup is delicious. I will let you know about the plaid bowl because I ordered it!

    1. Linda, start looking at your thrift store as well, or if you have Kindle unlimited there are many books that are ” free” with your subscription. Also, check out Thrifted Books online, great deals there.
