Decoupaged Pumpkins

September 24, 2012 By Elizabeth@ Pine Cones and Acorns 28 Comments

Hello! Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was GREAT! I walked, biked and sat and basked in the Fall weather. I cannot tell you how happy this weather makes me, I have a spring in my step and a smile on face.

I also baked several tasty pumpkin desserts which I will show you tomorrow and made these decoupaged pumpkins.

I had seen something similar to this last year in Country Living Magazine last year and was inspired to try it.

Inspiration from Image Country Living
Inspiration from Country Living Magazine

I copied some images, dyed them in black tea and then got to work glueing the strips of paper to my paper mache pumpkin.

Still Drying

I think they turned out pretty good. Obviously not very “Halloween like” but they suit my office decor fine.

What did you do this weekend? Was it beautiful in your area? Are you feeling Fall?

I would love to hear all about your adventures!

In the meantime, I hope that you have a great week!

If you are looking for some Fall inspiration there are great things on

Pinterest and I have a board on Fall where you can find all of the pumpkins above and more.

    Hello Elizabeth:
What an imaginative idea! They may not be very 'spooky' but, in our book, that makes these pumpkins all the more desirable. The toile suits the decoupage technique particularly well we feel and now you have us wondering what else we could subject to this treatment!!

Thank you so much for the kind and generous comment which you left on our blog and to which we have made reply. We have signed ourselves as followers as we seem to have lost touch with your posts and we hope we can entice you to do the same one day.

Hoping that you continue to enjoy the season!

Did you see the pumpkins on Link #60, Robin from CA (Beverly's Pink Saturday)? That one is certainly Cinderella's coach. Anyway, yours look great! Great idea! It's cooler temps and some very needed rain here. There are always bouts of hot or overly hot days in Central Texas – and the drought had dried up so much that the rain just made everything happy. All good. Happy Pink Saturday!

This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life through the blur of tears and sorrow. Sunday night my friend of 34 years lost her husband of 36 years, because of Covid he did not get to meet or hold his newborn grandson. Then just an hour ago we received a call that my husbands best friend died of a massive heart attack this morning. Sometimes life just knocks you to your knees and all you can do is pray for the loved ones you’ve lost, cherish their memories and let your time with them sustain you until you meet again. Then you ask God for the strength to get up and move forward. #life #loss #givemestrength #givemestrengthlord #pray
