English Country Christmas Inspired Decorations

I love the cozy, comfy feeling of an English country cottage Christmas. The fresh cut tree, and greens including mistletoe, and holly. Fairy lights twinkling and paper snowflakes and stars swaying in a draft. The glow of the fire and the candles illuminating the room and casting whimsical shadows.

English country Christmas is mince pies, Christmas pudding, chocolate oranges and a tin of Quality Street candy. Charade’s, puzzles, family time, long walks and lazy days with a nap in between.

Charles Dickens, the Christmas goose and of course the Christmas crackers. Tradition, nostalgia and a remembrance of times past. Cups of wassail and hot chocolate, quiet time by the fire. The laughter of family and friends.

It’s no secret I love cozy cottages so what better place to kick off Christmas and to introduce my Holiday Shop than with a little English Cottage Christmas Decor.  This year I combed all of our favorite stores and put together a Holiday shop filled with wreaths, garland stockings, trees, advent calendars, tabletop, decor and more. Yes, I realize yesterday was Halloween and we still have Thanksgiving to come. But believe it or not a lot of Christmas decor is already sold out at the stores. One of the good things about ordering early and planning ahead, more time to do the things you love. After all isn’t Christmas about family and friends, baking with the grandkids, celebrating the season with those we love?

  1. I can never decide what type of decor I prefer most. Last year I was leaning towards Scandinavian, which uses a lot of white and natural wood. I also love anything mercury glass. And English cottage is nice too.

    1. Lorna, I love Scandinavian christmas decor but it doesn’t go with my normal decor. My house is very English country. I too love mercury glass!
      Have a wonderful week!
