Good morning! I hope your week is off to a great start. I have been having a hard time getting back into the grove this week after the long weekend. And it is freezing here, not literally but it is way below normal so that has me feeling sluggish as well.
I guess that is a good thing because now I can stay inside and start finalizing my Christmas decor, baking and more.

I love Advent Calendars, we always had one growing up, did you? Some years we had the little wood ones with the doors that you opened and there were pieces of candy, other years we had wall hanging ones with pockets that had treats in them.
A few years ago I gave my grandkids one that is 25 little mittens on a string, they love getting up in the morning and getting their treat as they count down to Christmas. Today I thought I would share 10 Easy DIY Calendars that you might like to make with your kids or grandkids.

And my very favorite, a Book Advent Calendar! You could start with this The Polar Express, God Gave Us Christmas, or The Spirit of Christmas for your kids and grandkids.
For yourself, maybe The Journey of Joseph Winter: A Christmas Fairy Tale, Christmas Jars, Mr. Dickens and His Carol, The Man Who Invented Christmas, Christmas: A Biography.
Have a great day!
In case you don’t want to make a calendar here are a few you might like.

I've only been really aware of advent calendars in more recent years, as it's become commercialized with such things in stores. I imagine it might have been more done in Catholic homes, or possibly other Protestant denominations. My background was Reformed Church, and there wouldn't have been such a thing through that denomination.
My favorite is that second one. Have a great day, Elizabeth!
