Good morning, the weather has been all over the place the last few days, it looks like Spring but feels like winter. I personally love winter but the mild weather this year and the drastic temperature swings has me antsy for Spring. I have been emailing friends to see what they are planting, looking online for seeds, plants, ideas and planning my containers. Next week we are having two crepe myrtle trees cut down and several large bushes removed from the back yard. Unfortunately the bushes have some sort of bug and they are dying, so they have to go. I really didn’t like them anyway so it is an opportunity to add something new to the landscaping. This year I want to try to plant things that attract hummingbirds and butterflies, I am going to start with seeds but also get a few plants.

My yoga studio started a community garden last year and it was a great success so we are doing it again this year. Everyone brings their favorite seeds, plants and cuttings and one weekend we plant them all. We have learned a lot about what works and what doesn’t so this year there will be some changes, like raised beds, more tomato cages, and trellises for the climbing plants.

Do you have a favorite source for plants and seeds?
