A bottle of wine, a candle, a homemade treat, those are just a few of my suggestions for an affordable and thoughtful hostess gift this holiday season.

Affordable Holiday Hostess Gifts
Good morning friends, over the next couple of months there will be dinners, parties, family get togethers and more. Today I thought I would share a few affordable hostess gifts to give as a token of your appreciation when you attend one of these events.
Small gifts to thank your host or hostess for having you to dinner, to make cookies, to attend a holiday party or for a long weekend are always a good idea, especially at the holidays. Your hostess gift could be something as simple as a candle, a house plant, a bottle of wine or even a tray of homemade treats.
But if you wanted to give something a little different here are a few of my suggestions.
Gifts for the Tabletop

Pair a cheese knife, and favorite wedge of cheese on a small cutting board. Or place the cutting board, cheese and some homemade chutney in a basket wrapped with cellophane and tied with a plaid bow.

A set of coasters tied with your favorite ribbon. Or a wine coaster and a bottle of wine! This hammered bottle coaster is on sale for $15.00!

A bottle opener and wine opener to accompany the hosts favorite beer or wine.(Sorry this horn bottle opener is sold out)
Hostess Gifts for the Kitchen

Holiday towels, napkins or an apron are another favorite of mine to give and to receive.
Or a beautiful tray with cookies and candy.

Gift Candles

A perennial favorite of most hostesses, a candle in the scent of the season. Wrap it in beautiful paper, and don’t forget to add some decorative matches and a snuffer.

I personally buy a lot of candles from TJ Maxx, and I always enjoy the scents of Sand + Fog. Yhey are priced from $7.00-$12.99 and the good news is that Marshall’s has them too.
You can shop TJ MAXX, Marshalls and Homegoods online and beat the crowds, all three store offer free shipping if you spend more than $89.00.
Cozy Hostess Gifts

A seasonal pillow for a cabin retreat or a pillow for their bed. I like this one and this this one too!

A is another great gift, and will keep your hostess warm all season long! If you need a few more ideas check out this post with lots of cosy throws and blankets.
Foodie Hostess Gifts

Sweet treats are always a good idea! If you are pressed for time you can buy them.

Or make some homemade candy , truffles, almond bark, or cookies.

A tin of tea or some coffee along with a tea cup and saucer is a special gift for the hostess. It is also a reminder to take a little time for his or herself to relax and enjoy the holiday.

Hot chocolate and some marshmallows are always a good ide, in my opinion. After all who doesn’t a warm chocolaty drink topped with fluffy marshmallows.
I make them homemade and sometimes I even cover them in chocolate to make them extra special. Trust me, if you have never made homemade marshmallows make them this year, they are my most requested sweet treat!
Pin Me for Later

There are so many things that you can gift a hostess but the most important is the gift of your time, presence and gratitude. While you are visiting be mindful of the other guests and your hosts. Put your phone to the side and enjoy the people that you are with.
