Monday Musings No. 57, a weekend update + 5 Things: what I read, watched, and discovered this weekend and more.
MUSINGS
Good morning friends, happy Monday to you! How was your weekend? Mine was busy and I am worn out! A few days ago I made a plan to finally cross a few projects off my list that have been languishing and I worked all weekend doing just that.
Saturday
I hung shelves in my office closet and in the broom closet. Then cleaned all the drawers and cabinets in the bathrooms. After that I rearranged the kitchen.
When we moved in the kitchen after the renovation we just unpacked and put stuff in the cabinets and drawers. Now that we have been in their 6 months there are things that were not in the right place for ease of use and flow. It is now reorganized the way I like it.
That’s not all I did, I organized all of the holiday boxes in the garage and donated a bunch of stuff we haven’t used in a few seasons.
Sunday
After all of my hard work on Saturday I decided to make cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Although I typically make my grandmothers recipe I decided to try this small batch recipe instead and they were scrumptious. The recipes only makes 4 rolls, the perfect amount for 2 people.
Sunday I organized our house files and started to get my paperwork in order for tax time. Every year I say that I am going to do it monthly and I don’t. Why do I torture myself like this?
Did your team make it to the Super Bowl? My husband is very excited to see the KC Chiefs heading to the big game, as per usual I will be there for the food and the commercials.
Ok, grab your coffee, tea or chocolate and let’s get on to 5 things.
+5 THINGS
1. READ
Marion Miller needs a fresh start.
Her childhood in Northern Ireland wasn’t easy, with a father who passed away when she was young and a mother who got lost in grief. Now grown-up and with family relations as tense as ever, Marion heads to England, to find out the truth about her father’s mysterious past – and hopefully an extended family who will love her as much as he did.
Scarlett Obermann runs a holiday park in Sherwood Forest with her daughter Grace, but what’s she’s best at is making people feel like they belong. With her merry band of waifs and strays, Scarlett welcomes Marion with open arms, and it isn’t long before Marion finally understands what it means to find a home.
As she tries to uncover her father’s story, Marion slowly blossoms, even daring to indulge in her crush on Reuben, the son of the Lord of the Manor, but she hasn’t quite out-run her past. And as Scarlett faces her own tragedy, it’s Marion’s turn to take care of everyone.
