Carrier & Company, Our Food Stories, Valentine’s Day Gifts for Her and More on Weekend Meanderings
Good morning friends, how are you?
Today I am joining Kim and Juliet for weekend meanderings, our weekly series of things that caught our eye, piqued our interest. Adventures, style, life and so much more.
Did you remember to tune in the their live on Instagram this week? If not go check out the replay!
Today it is sunny but freezing, a wonderful day to make a pot of soup to simmer, take an afternoon walk and of course to warm up with a steamy cup of chocolate. Then settle in with a book or scroll through a few of the things I am sharing today.
Let’s get to it!
Carrier & Company, Our Food Stories, Valentine’s Day Gifts for Her and More on Weekend Meanderings
Carrier & Company
I opened an email from Chairish recently and the image above was featured. It is a stunning room by Carrier & Company. This room is comfortable, cozy, collected and so much more. Can you imagine curling up with a book in one of the comfy chairs?
After seeing this photo I spent the next hour on their website admiring each and every project. Featured in AD, Luxe, Flower Magazine, Veranda, Elle Decor and many more you have probably seen and admired their work for ages.
You can see more of their work in their book Carrier and Company Positively Chic Interiors.
The Forager’s Cottage
Speaking of stopping me in my scroll, The Foragers Cottage does it every time they post in Instagram. Moody, collected and foraged finds in a cottage in the forest surrounded by vineyards. This charming account featured snippets of life and yet each image seems like a still life painting. The worn books, foliage, vintage crockery offer a glimpse of the past, a time when history and family pieces were cherished.
Our Food Stories
Another recent discovery was the beautiful blog Our Food Stories. Berlin born photographer Laura Muthesius and stylist Nora Eisermann started their blog because Laura had food allergies.
What began as an experiment to make delicious gluten free cake turned into their magazine like blog. Laura and Nora share not only their delicious recipes, but their home(a former schoolhouse), stunning photos and styling.
This warm winter salad is just one of the recipes I have bookmarked. Be sure to check out Our Food Stories, but before you do grab a cup of coffee because you are going to be there awhile.
Elizabeth Floyd
I’ve written about the artist Elizabeth Floyd several times on the blog, because I love her beautiful painting. Today I wanted to let you know, jut in case you are not on her mailing list, that she will be adding new pieces to her shop next week!
A watercolor peony painting would make a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift! Elizabeth also has one of a kind giclee framed paintings of a few of her oil paintings. Check out all of here available paintings in her shop.
Valentine’s Day Gifts for Her
Valentine’s Day gifts for women run the gamut of practical to romantic and everything in between. Here are of few of the things I would love to get on Valentine’s Day.

Elizabeth, Thank you for linking to Food Stories. What a beautiful blog. Lot’s of good cooking ideas there! I also love Carrier and Co. I should get that book. I will try your cupcake recipe. I am trying to make care packages for the kids and wonder if they will ship. They sure look delicious. Also thanks for the Janie Monster blog.. I follow her and her love of pink. Did not know about the blog and I need an upholstered headboard!

Good morning, Elizabeth and happy weekend! It’s sunny but cold here too. Very cold! Or cold for us. Ha! Carrier and Co. … where have they been all my life. I love that photo … the sofa is marvelous. And all your other inspirations suggestions are wonderful too … I could spend the rest of my day studying each one. I just might. Super cute Valentine suggestions. I adore the holiday colored Le Crueset and Kitchenaid mixers … wish I could have one in each color for each occasion. And on that note, I’m pulling together my stacks of magazines and heading to the sofa for several hours of chill time. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! xo
