Thyme, the charming country house hotel in the Cotswolds, Bertioli, linens and houseware, Bond & Grace art books and more on weekend meanderings.

Good morning friends. It’s time for weekend meanings with Kim and Juliet. Our weekly series where we share all of the things that piqued our interest and caught our eye this week.
It’s Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start to summer and a day set aside to honor the members of the military who have died while serving in the United States armed forces. So in between the barbecues, pool parties and weekend adventures don’t forget to take a minute to remember these brave men and women.
Weekend Meanderings~ Thyme, Bertioli, Bond & Grace
Over the last few weeks I have been sharing my love of English country houses, today I am continuing by sharing Thyme, a charming country house hotel as well as its sister site Bertioli with hand made linens.
Thyme

“Thyme is a family story where a passion for the land, food and entertaining merges with a love of nature, beauty and conservation.
Our ethos is simple. Our dedication is resolute. Conserving the beauty of the land through generations of love, for generations to come.”

Thyme is a must do if you are visiting the Cotswolds. This restored historic Cotswold manor house and farm, is a quaint hotel, spa, cooking school, restaurant, bar and village pub.
Southrop Manor was purchased in 202 by Caryn & Jerry Hibbert, Caryn is a former doctor and Jerry an award winning animator. Soon after purchasing the Manor they acquired the derelict and run down farm buildings adjacent to the the house.

Over the years Caryn along with her father Michael Bertioli have painstakingly restored these old buildings, at the same time making them as energy efficient as possible. Conservation and restoration are at the heart of Thyme, not just the buildings but the land as well and the animals and birds living on the 150 acres.
What began as a cooking school in 2007, has evolved over the years into a thriving family business. Caryns’ son, Charlie is the head chef and daughter is the general manager. She also works hand in hand with Caryn on Bertoil the retail arm of Thyme.

You can stay in one of the 36 beautifully appointed rooms, some with their own gardens, dine in the restaurant, or just visit the shop and the spa.
Although I have visited the Cotswolds I have never had the pleasure of visiting Thyme, it is now at the top of my list for my next visit to the UK. What do you think? Will you add this charming place to your travel list?

“Inspired by nature, we design simple, beautiful products for everyday living, that inspire a connection to the land and nourish both people and planet.”

Hand painted by Thyme’s Founder Caryn Hibbert, all of the original prints depict the flora and fauna in Thyme’s garden, farm and wild spaces. These beautiful illustrations grace the menus, linens, pillow and fabrics. The shop also sells all natural beauty products, books and lots of other items for the home.

Bond & Grace
Bond & Grace is a women-owned publishing house and art shop. They create collectible coffee table books featuring classic novels, scholarly context and fine art. We honor beloved stories by evolving them to reflect the values of tomorrow.

On Monday I shared the home of Jacqueline Bond one of Bond & Grace founders. I was intrigued by her home as well as her story. Savannah Bond, Jacqueline Bond and Ayana Christie are friends, sisters the co-founders of the unique publishing company Bond & Grace.

The first book published was The Secret Garden. This limited edition book is filled with original art, most by female artists, is hand-sewn. comes in a presentation box and is made in Washington, D.C. To say it is a work of art is an understatement.
All of the original artwork featured in The Secret Garden is available for purchase. You can see the art on the award winning website or view it in Jacquelines house which is in the home tour video.
If you love art and beautiful books make sure to visit Bond & Grace and stay tuned for more classics.

Elizabeth, Loved the homes you have been sharing in England. This is a beauty and I would love to get to it next time we have a trip there. It’s wonderful these beautiful old properties have been restored and appreciated.
Your Memorial Day charcuterie board is adorable. I would try that if I was having a party.
I also think skirt and outfit is really lovely too!
