WEEKEND MEANDERINGS
Good morning and a happy Saturday to you! It’s time for weekend meandering with Kim and Juliet, our weekly series where we share all of the things that piqued our interest and caught our eye over the past week
Whew! It has been a busy week.
Vet appointments, a “interview” for our new dog camp/kennel, hair cut/color, yearly physical and life in between.
Yesterday I had a mammogram. In case you are new here, my mom was diagnosed at 36 with breast cancer. Thankfully she is still here and living life to the fullest. Don’t gorget to to schedule your yearly appointment. I will remind you again in October which is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
How was your week? What are your plans for the weekend?
Ok, let’s meander!
Robert Kime
Beloved British interior designer, antique dealer, textile collector and decorator of King Charles, Robert Kime’s collections are going up for auction next week.

Robert’s collected style drew me in years ago. Books, textiles, art, pottery, comfortable chairs, and pieces from all over the world mixed together creating comfortable, cozy spaces.
I have been watching the interviews on Youtube with Roberts’ friends, colleagues and clients and they are fascinating. He was incredibly talented, and loved by all who knew him.
This article in House & Gardens gives a glimpse into the family home the Helen and Robert created with personal stories and recollections from their daughter, Hannah.
The auctions will feature pieces from his apartment in London and La Gonnette, a home that he and his wife, author Helen Nicoll, renovated and decorated in France. Dreweatts will hold the auction October 4-6th, you can view the catalog online, it too is a work of art.

One to Follow~The Linen Rabbit
The Linen Rabbit is one of my all time favorite Instagram accounts. Tori has created an “old home” in a new build and it is filled with charm and character.
Not to mention beautiful cookies and a love for Harry Potter. If you are a Halloween or Harry Potter fan you will love all of Tori’s decorations, they are so creative.
Follow on Instagram or on her blog.

Do you have an extra 16 million laying around? If so I found a beautiful Cotswolds house for sale. In fact it is being marketed as “one of the most beautiful house in the Cotswolds.” While a few to the furnishing are not to my taste this house is amazing. And the gardens spectacular.
The home also comes equipped with a library, billiards room, gym, and screening room 10 bedrooms, 4 cottages,12 acres with the house, including a cricket pitch and indoor pool. And last but not least a separate woodland block of 50 acres.
You can see all of the details and the interior of the house in this listing.
Fall Finds
I have this skirt in my cart and these boots too!
Love these velvet ballet flats for casual outfits.
And this sweater from Mango.
J. Crew has so many great pieces, I am drawn to the colorful cashmere and this argyle vest.
This dress is fabulous!
Quiet Luxury
Speaking of Fall finds and additions to your wardrobe. Did you read Kim and Juliets post this week about quiet luxury? So interesting and filled with beautiful, classic pieces to add to your wardrobe that will last a lifetime.
I loved this quote from Juliet.” At the end of the day, quiet luxury isn’t about chasing trends or keeping up with Mrs. Jones. And it’s not about spending excessively or beyond your means. It’s about knowing who you are and how you want to live and turning that knowledge and self-awareness into a lifestyle that suits you. When you surround yourself with only the things you truly value and love, breathe a sigh of relief because those are the things that are always in and never out.”

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
This week I shared all sorts of cozy fall things. On Monday Musings I shared this book, which many have since ordered and this outfit, along with a great Glen Close movie.
Here are the outfit details in case you are interested: loafers//sweater//pants//polish//earrings//bag//perfume.
Then I shared a delicious blue cheese pumpkin Mac and cheese. I know that a lot of people like sweet pumpkin recipes but this savory one is so good.
Cozy season calls for throws and blankets. As I do every year I share a selection of comfy throws from my favorite stores. I am partial to the down throws and the comfy cashmere, pricy but something you will have for years.
Last but not least, Friday Favorites! A selection of books, recipes, lots of interesting links and so much more. This week I shared a few one pan meals that are comforting and delicious, some books for your stack, a fall outfit and so much more.
Here all of the details for Fridays’s outfit: All the details for the outfit of the day:sweater//pants//ballet flats//bag//nails/perfume.

Elizabeth , I’ve just been sitting on your blog for the past 45 minutes and enjoying so much of it I had no idea about Robert Kime. He really was such an incredible person wasn’t he? I would love to see what’s in the auction. I wouldn’t read more on him. He just sounds like such a nice man too. I don’t fall the linen rabbit but now I will her house looks beautiful. I wish I could buy that Cotswolds house!!
When I get to there, I’ll look for one for you!
You had such a cute outfit idea this week, and I loved that jcrew sweater.
I hope you’re getting some downtime this weekend after a busy week. Have a beautiful weekend.
Thank you Kim! I cannot wait to see all of the fun things you see and do while in the UK. You are going to love the Cotswolds, although I think you mentioned that you had been before.
Robert Kime is fascinating. His wife was an author of children books and she invented audio books. When she sold her audio book company she bought their house in France and worked with the architect to put it back together. There is a great part on one of the videos with the architect, I forgot her name but she found piles of stone at a salvage place and figured out they were stairs. She found someone to put them into the house and they look incredible.
He also worked with Gela Nash(Juicy Couture) and John Taylor(Duran Duran) and became great friends with them as he renovated their country house.
I thought my outfits fit the quiet luxury look, thank you.
You are very welcome for sharing. Both of your posts were filled with fabulous inside, information and outfits.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. xo Elizabeth
Also forgot to say, thank you so much for sharing. The quiet luxe post that was really sweet . xo
Elizabeth! I’m down the Linen Rabbit-rabbit hole with no end in sight. Absolutely love this new as old, old as new mindset. So much inspiration from what can be often frustrating for vintage lovers with a newer build. As for Robert Kime, what a fun auction this will be … wish I could grab a paddle. Thank you so much for featuring my quiet luxury post. I’ve been noodling on this topic for months and got a lot of enjoyment writing it. Swooning over the ruffle neck, J.Crew sweater in your fall outfit collage. Hope you’ve having a wonderful weekend. xo
