Ok, let’s get to weekend meanderings.

2024 Paris Olympics
The official poster shown above represents both the Paris Olympics(left half) and the Paralympics(right half). French designer and illustrator Ugo Gattoni spent 2,000 hours creating a 13-by-16 foot drawing to be printed on the posters. See if you can find the hidden mascot.
Fun Facts About the Olympics

On My Radar

Hi Elizabeth,
Have a beautiful summer break and see you when you return!
Take care!
Thank you Francesca. I will continue to post my regular schedule just taking off on Saturdays. Have a wonderful week.
Such a lovely post Elizabeth. We caught some of the opening ceremonies here last night, I felt so sorry for both the athletes and the organisers as the rain poured. One of my neighbours here, lives in Paris, I’m looking forward to hearing what she thought when she arrives in Brittany next week.
Have a lovely August and I look forward to more meanderings in September. xxx
Hi Elizabeth,
Wonderful you are taking the weekends off of posting. It takes so much of your time.
Yes, I watched most of the opening Ceremonies of the 2024 Paris Olympics. I loved it all. I thought it was the best opening Olympics I have ever seen. It was so French, creative, and unique in the most wonderful way. At the end Celine Dion was outstanding. I’m a huge fan. Loved her singing in French, just strong and so beautifully done. Celine looked gorgeous. I’ve been following her since her diagnosis. She is truly AMAZING. Super strong mentally, nothing gets in her way . She is truly unstoppable.
I ❤️the official Paris Olympics poster. Yes I did spot the red hat, on my iPhone it’s to the far right side of the poster. The poster is well done, so very cool.
The gymnastics is my living favorite, I have an appreciation for all the sports.
I baked the Ultimate Zucchini bread. I bake lots. My over tends to bake fast. I usually keep a very close eye on all baked things in the oven. It’s very good, however it turned out a bit dry. I pop a piece in the micro wave and put a lid over it to moisten it up.
I enjoy so many things that you share.
Judith, I too felt sorry for the athletes. I think some of the Opening Ceremony was great and some was a little…I am not sure about.
Have a wonderful time in Brittany! Enjoy the rest of your summer.
xx
HI Elizabeth!
I have been enjoying the olympics. The swimming and gymnastics are always so fun, but honestly I wish they’d have more of the other sports too. I’d love too see some of the others. I love track & field too. These are cute ideas for desserts. I love your pizza.. and the pudding I really want to try. Great you two are doing this series!!
Thanks for all the interesting facts too. You know I think Disney is SO expensive and you could have a Europe trip for less. Why not take your family there instead? I had a friend who only ever went there and she said I wish I could afford to travel like you.. We did the numbers and her Disney trips cost WAY more than my trips to Europe. Americans need to get the heck out of Dodge more!
Hope you have a lovely week !! x
Kim, enjoy every minute of the Olympics! I agree with you, I would like to see more of the events, I think there are over 200 and we only get to see a handful.
I am shocked that someone would spend $40,000 to go to Disney. You could go to Europe for 3 weeks for that kind of money, learn and see so much more.
Have a wonderful weekend. xo
