Holiday Fashion~Women Over 50
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, there are parties, holiday concerts, family dinners and of course Christmas! If you are looking for a holiday party or outfit inspiration, I’ve got you covered! Today I am sharing a few holiday outfits that you can wear to every event on your calendar.
These outfits are comprised of pieces that you probably already have in your closets or have something similar. They can be worn as shown or combined, dressed up or down. Take these simple pieces and mix and match to create the perfect holiday look for you and your holiday events.

plaid skirt//sweater//boots//bow pin//bag
A casual plaid skirt can be dressed up or down with a sweater and accessories. Here I paired a black watch plaid Ralph Lauren skirt with black boots and a black sweater.

red skirt//black dot heels//red and white bag// sweater
Red is synonmous with Christmas! This red skirt can be paired with a sweater, white blouse, t-shirt or blazer. Add a pair of boots or heels and a seasonal bag. To dress this down add a t-shirt and a pair of sneaker with a jean jacket! Make sure to add a few brooches, they dress up everything.

green velvet pants//argyle sweater//earrings//shoes
Don’t you love velvet at the holidays? Me too! I can remember many holiday celebrations in which I was wearing a velvet dress or a skirt that was made by my mother or grandmother. These green velvet pants are casual, comfortable and classic. Pair them with a colorful argyle sweater or a blouse from your closet.

black dress//black boots// silver bag //earrings//lipstick
A sassy black velvet dress, knee boots to keep your feet warm, a whimsical bag and demure bow earrings look great on a holiday date night, a night with your friends or a party. This look would also be great for New Year’s Eve.

black embellished cardigan//black pants//shoes//bag//red lipstick
Grab a pair of black pants from your closet, a few of your favorite brooches and a black sweater and you have a sophisticated and classic outfit.

blue dress//burgundy shoes//bag//lipstick//earrings//perfume
A simple and elegant blue dress paired with the rich wine color of the season. Add a pair of your favorite earrings, a spritz of perfume, slick of lipstick and you are ready for whatever holiday soiree you have on the calendar.

blue plaid dress//black shoes//bag//earrings
You know I love plaid, this beautiful dress is a subtle black watch plaid. The plaid is actually a neutral and can be worn with whatever accent color you like, for this outfit I chose a “present clutch” but you could easy use a black or green plain bag. The dress can also be worn with boots and if you wear a sweater over the top it looks like a skirt.

jeans//boots//sweater//red jacket
Jeans are great for casual outings and celebrations. Wear your favorite pair with a fair isle sweater or an “ugly Christmas” sweater to a skating party or open presents Christmas morning.

I don’t know about your house but at least one day during the holidays or cold winter weekend we spend at least one whole day in our pajamas. Put a pair of comfy pajamas on your Christmas list to keep you warm all winter long.
UNTIL TOMORROW
My in box these last few weeks has been bombarded with sales. It is easy to get lured into buying something beautiful and yet totally unsuitable for your lifestyle. Believe me, I have one or two items from the last few years that caught my eye and are still hanging unworn in my closet.
If you need or want something new, find pieces that you love and will wear again and again, like a pair of black pants, a cashmere sweater, or a classic looking dress. Then add colorful accessories like scarves and jewelry to jazz it up!
At the end of the day what works for me and my life or style might not work for you. Wear whatever you like and that makes you happy and feel good.
I hope that you enjoyed my holiday outfit ideas and were inspired to put something together from your own closet. Have a great day friends.
