Weekend Meanderings

Good Saturday morning to you friends. It’s time for Weekend Meanderings with Juliet and Kim. Join us as we share all of the things that piqued our interests and caught our eye this week.

There are no words to describe the heartbreak and utter devastation in California. People on the ground say that you cannot really tell what it is like unless you see it in person, that is probably true. What I can say is that what family and friends have shared is beyond comprehension. All I can offer is prayers, donations and comfort.

Donate to Help California

If you are able to help in any way here is a list of places to make donations. Of course there are many, many others, as well as, Go Fund me accounts, etc. If you have somewhere that you donate please share it in the comments and I will add it to this list.

Ok, let’s meander.

  • What’s happening with the wildfires has wiped out so many homes. I can’t imagine standing in front of a place where my home once stood, and there’s nothing there.

    • Brenda, I could not agree with you more. There is a house in my neighborhood that burned to the ground, the people had just moved in the week before and everything they owned was lost. It is heartbreaking to see.
My heart and prayers go out to all who are suffering in California.

  • Happy New Year, Elizabeth! It’s good to be back with you and Kim for another year of weekend meanderings. It looks like I’ve got a lot of castle touring to do … and it’s a lazy weekend so I’m going to move my laptop to the sofa and dive in. Bliss! xo

  • Elizabeth, So glad to be back with you. Thank you for sharing all the ways to help with the fire. Living in California, we have so many friends who have family that have lost everything. I do know Global Empowerment Mission has been on the ground giving cash to people now and helping them just gain food and shelter as there are more families displaced than places to go. It’s really hard to grasp how many and what will happen..

I can’t wait to sit down and watch these two videos – and also check out the Chatsworth transformation. I love all of it!! I think I’ll do it with my tea this afternoon.. Love that Chia seed pudding ! Chocolate and cherry are my thing. I will share it on Instagram too. Sorry I missed it. Thank you for sharing the coat post. I also think you have a lot of lovely ones linked here!
Hope you have a good weekend.

    • Kim, I am praying for all of your fellow Californians. It is heartbreaking to see so many people and animals suffer. I cannot imagine the task ahead, rebuilding, the funding, temporary housing. Where will all of these people go?
You are going to love the videos!
Have a wonderful week! So nice to be back together with you and Juliet.
