Monday Musings No. 201
Good morning friends, I hope that you had a lovely weekend. Are you staying warm? It’s been chilly here and when I spoke to my dad yesterday in the Midwest he said it was 2! Yikes, that cold.
This morning it’s 19 and a high of 38. I keep hoping for snow but alas, it is not to be.
As for the painting project, the walls are washed, drywall patches primed and we have one coat on the walls. We are not sure if we should put another coat on before the fireplace is installed just in case the walls get scratched or something else happens during the install. In the meantime, chaos reigns.
I know that you know what I am talking about. When you have work done in one room and all of the furniture, art, books and nick knacks are no piled in another room, in this case the front hall and the family room.
It would not be Christmas without a project.
Tell me, what is going on in your world? Are you finished shopping? Baking cookies?
I have lots to share today so let’s get to 5 Things.

The first family Christmas without her. The traditions that will keep them together.
Estranged siblings Romy, Matt, and Joanna return to their Dublin childhood home for the first Christmas after the death of their beloved mother, Cathy.
Grief has pulled them apart and old resentments linger—but Cathy has left them one final gift: a selection of her favourite holiday traditions to complete together in her absence.
From picking out the tree, rediscovering festive childhood mementos, and re-engaging with the local community, each Christmas task brings nostalgia, unexpected laughter and the chance to heal old wounds.
And as they slowly discover what it means to be a family without the heart of their home, the siblings learn that even in the hardest season, a mother’s love can still light the way.

4. SHOPPING BREAK

Sequins are everywhere right now and they are a fun way to dress up for the holidays. This week I paired a sequins skirt with a pretty and versatile cardigan with a bow, and added plaid flats and a bag. Add your favorite jewelry and a spritz of perfume and you are ready for a holiday concert or dinner.
Each piece can be worn with other items in your closet.
