Cecelia Ahern, The Positano Diaries, a Winter outfit and more on Monday Musings.

MONDAY MUSINGS NO. 155
Good morning friends, happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was very lazy and quiet. My husband Bill arrived home early Saturday after taking the red eye from the West Coast. He was traveling for work and was very tired. Unlike me he doesn’t sleep on planes. Needless to say a nap and an early night were in order and then Sunday lots of catching up.
The last of the snow melted Saturday with the rising temperatures. It’s going to be in the 60’s this week! What the heck, last week it was in the teens overnight. My plants are so confused, and so am I. I am trying to enjoy some cozy winter weather not spring in January.
Lately I have been taking a break from social media and trying to read more. Instagram is not really interesting or fun anymore because every post in my feed is sponsored. I still check it out for about 20 minutes in the morning to get my fill but that is about it.
If anyone has any tips to see more of my favorites let me know. Are you spending more or less time on social media lately? What about TikTok? Are you on that app? Or are you moving away from traditional social spaces and migrating to Substack?
On that note, tell me some of your favorite Substack accounts?
Ok, on to 5 Things!
1.READ~Roar

Cecelia Ahern is one of my favorite authors, if you like P.S. I Love You I think you will enjoy Roar.
In this singular and imaginative story collection, Cecelia Ahern explores the endless ways in which women blaze through adversity with wit, resourcefulness, and compassion. Ahern takes the familiar aspects of women’s lives—the routines, the embarrassments, the desires—and elevates these moments to the outlandish and hilarious with her astute blend of magical realism and social insight.
One woman is tortured by sinister bite marks that appear on her skin; another is swallowed up by the floor during a mortifying presentation; yet another resolves to return and exchange her boring husband at the store where she originally acquired him. The women at the center of this curious universe learn that their reality is shaped not only by how others perceive them, but also how they perceive the power within themselves.
By turns sly, whimsical, and affecting, these thirty short stories are a dynamic examination of what it means to be a woman in this very moment. Like women themselves, each story can stand alone; yet together, they have a combined power to shift consciousness, inspire others, and create a multi-voiced Roar that will not be ignored.

4. SHOPPING BREAK~OUTFIT OF THE DAY

Being comfy in the winter doesn’t mean that you can’t look stylish. Black and gray are a great paring for this look, as is blue and gray. All of these separates are pieces we all have, slacks or jeans, a white shirt, and a sweater. Paired with loafers, bodies or even trainers the look is classic and very cozy.

On My Radar

I am not on TikTok but I am intrigued by Substack and would love some recommendations on who to follow.
I am not on Tik Tok either but I have hear that the “community” is great. As for Substack I like Decor8, Fleurishing, Lickedspoon with Deborah Robertson, The Earful Tower.
I have many more as I will read almost anything and enjoy learning new things. Many of these I am doing the free version.
I met Nicki in Italy when she did our makeup for my daughters wedding. She is delightful. Love their vlog
Abby, Nikki seems like a wonderful lady. I am sure that your daughter looked beautiful.
Have a wonderful week.
I deleted my facebook and Instagram apps from my phone on January 1st. I wanted to have a dry month away from social media which can suck time away. I will add them back in February but I hope that this vacation from them will make it easier to use them more sparingly going forward. I have never had a TikTok account.
I love Meeghan Mullin too! Also, Hollis Loudon on IG and Substack! I’m not on TikTok.
