Girl Scout Cookies, Casa Fornasetti, Vanessa Perdriau, and more on Weekend Meanderings.

Weekend Meanderings
Good Saturday morning friends. It’s time for Weekend Meanderings with Kim and Juliet. Join us as we share all of the things that piqued our interests and caught our eye this week.
It was 77 yesterday and the signs of spring are everywhere. A few or our Lenten Roses bloomed, the daffodils are starting to pop up and there are tiny buds on my hydrangeas. Spring is less than 25 days away but I don’t think this is the end of winter weather. Last year this very same weekend we had an ice storm and then a dusting of snow. Truth be told, I am not ready for Spring or Summer for that matter, I’m still hibernating.
Have you enjoyed the Olympics? The skating, skiing, the bobsled, the luge and the women’s hockey and some of my favorites. Actually there wasn’t really any sport I did not enjoy, even the newest Olympic sport of skimo. It’s hard to believe the games are almost over and the closing ceremony is on Sunday.
Ok, let’s meander.
Girl Scout cookies

Were you a Girl Scout, I was and I am going to be honest, going door to door selling cookies was not my favorite activity. Pim, a 5 year old from Pennsylvania has been going viral on Tik Tok and Instagram and so for has sold over 100,000 boxes of cookies. That’s a national record for single season sales. She is well on the way to breaking Katie Frances’ lifetime sales record of 180,000 boxes!
Did you know that there are now 9 varieties of Girl Scout cookies? I didn’t, in fact there are some that I’ve never heard of, Adventurefuls® and Lemonades® are two. When I was a Girl Scout I think there were 4 flavors of cookies, Thin Mints and Trefoils were my favorites. Speaking of Thin Mint, do you like to eat them at room temperature or frozen?
This year there is a new cookie, The Exploremoresâ„¢! According to the Girl Scouts this cookie is inspired by Rocky Road ice cream with chocolate, marshmallow, and toasted almond crème. Sounds interesting but I think I may stick to my old favorites.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a Girl Scout in the family  you can now shop on line.
Tell me, what is your favorite Girl Scout Cookie flavor.

On My Radar

Hi Elizabeth,

Francesca, thank you! I hope that you enjoy The Night Agent and the Olympics. Have a lovely weekend.
What a touching story of Rob Shaver. He is so inspiring! I look forward to your posts every week. Thank you so much. Hope you have a restful weekend.
Elizabeth, I just read your essay on living intentionally. So true, we need to think about our daily choices and what brings joy. I try harder to do that all the time. We waste a lot of time.
Your citrus bread looks so delicious!
I can’t wait to sit down and watch the videos you picked, especially the Homeworthy one.
I hope you have a great weekend! xo
Kim
Your citrus bread looks amazing! And so does Sheri’s cinnamon roll cake!
xx
I always get so many good ideas here, Elizabeth! This week I started a vintage oyster plate collection…I say that as I bought one in Lyon in September and another a one recently on Etsy.
Elizabeth! You’ve gone from extreme cold to early – or false – spring in a short time. We’ve done the same, although a milder, California version. I can’t believe the Olympics is coming to an end, it’s been a ton of fun and I’ve loved every second. Now that I’ve recovered from very early morning men’s ice hockey game, I’m going to curl up and click through all your links … my favorite Sunday pastime. That chicken fried rice looks delish. Happy weekend! xo
