Good Monday morning my friends, I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. For many there was a rare treat of snow, for others ice and for me lots and lots of rain. It seems as if it has been raining for weeks. Frankly I like the rain in the winter, it is gives me an excuse to stay in and it is giving all of the plants, trees and grass ample water. Everything is so green and when it is time there will be a burst of colorful pinks and yellow everywhere, I’ve already seen the daffodils poking out of the soil. In the meantime we wait for Spring and make out plans for our gardens.
I am very excited because I am going to be featured in the HomeTalk newsletter today, they are sharing my decoupage eggs that I made for Easter.
Did you enjoy your Valentine’s Day? Ours was very low key. We had a scrumptious waffle breakfast, and then spent the morning reading in our “lounge” as my husband calls it, it’s actually our living room which is another room that we rarely used before covid. Over the last year I’ve made it more cosy and less formal and now we spend every morning drinking our coffee for him hot chocolate for me and night there reading and talking with the pups. At times it drives me crazy because it looks like 20 kids have had a slumber party in there and forgot to clean up of take their blankets home, every chair, ottoman and inch of the couch is draped with a blanket. My three dachshunds love to burro and to be covered up and you will often find them under not one but a pile of blankets.

Are you off work today for Presidents day? I have a busy week coming up so I am using today to get organized. And I may take a look at a few of the sales, to be honest I am really trying not to buy any clothes but a girl can look can’t she?
Here are a few things I found on tips from friends.
You can never go wrong with blue and white,  is on sale today.
I love dresses and this white one with eyelet puffed sleeves is calling my name.
As is this one , it would be perfect for Spring.
Sun dried linen is the name of this candle, just writing this takes me back to summer days when my mother dried our sheets on the clothes line, I loved the smell as I went to bed.
Boden is offering 15% off and they have some beautiful and unique pieces, like this dress and
this sweater.
I think the perfect President’s Day sale would be a sale on books, like this one which is on my wish list, and this one.
What is on your schedule this week? Will you be shopping the sales? Did you find anything that you “can’t life without”? Will you be baking or making this week? I have a big pot of chicken and rice soup in mind and a loaf of bread. I will share that later.
Have a wonderful week and be safe.

Today in some parts of Canada it’s Family Day, so it was a day off.
