Monday Musings No. 208

Good morning friends, I hope that you had a lovely weekend. It’s President’s day, a bank holiday for many and for the rest of us another beautiful start to the week.

There are lots of sales today. Traditionally the best things to shop for are mattresses, large appliances, home goods and winter apparel, sweaters, boots, jackets, etc. Judging by the flood of emails I received over the last few days I think all of that and more is on sale. Have you purchased anything? I shared this Veronica Beard bag in my newsletter and it was the bestseller of the month.

In Olympic news, watching Illia Malinin, “the Quad God” fall and melt down was heartbreaking. Can you imagine the pressure he was under? The good news is that Lyndsey Vonn has been cleared to fly home, she still has a long road ahead but at least she can do it from the comfort of home. What did you think of the curling cheating accusations? Curling fascinates me, I have no idea how to play or the rules but it is so interesting to watch.

Don’t forget to tune in Wednesday to watch Red Gerard, Tiegan Gerards'(of Half Baked Harvest) brother compete in the snowboard finals.

Do you have a favorite Olympic sport? Mine is alpine skiing, skating.

Ok, on to 5 things.

Read~Brunch and Other Obligations by Suzanne Nugent

Brunch and Other Obligations by Suzanne Nugent.

I enjoyed this book, but thought the end was a little rushed. If you read it let me know what you think.

The only thing reclusive bookworm Nora, high-powered attorney Christina, and supermom-in-training Leanne ever had in common was their best friend, Molly. When Molly dies, she leaves mysterious gifts and cryptic notes for each of her grieving best friends, along with one final request: that these three mismatched frenemies have brunch together every month for a year.
Filled with heartwrenching scenes and witty prose, Brunch and Other Obligations explores the intricate dynamics of girlhood acquaintances who are forced to reconnect as women. This upbeat novel reminds readers that there’s hope for getting through the hard times in life—with a lot of patience, humor, and a standing brunch date.

  1. I called up your post today as there seemed to be so many interesting things to read. Unfortunately, only about 20 percent of the screen was your post. The rest was ads flipping up and down, off and quickly replaced by another ad.
I hope you can do something about thi I had to turn it off.
Thanks for whatever help you can give.
