Welcome to Friday Favorites No. 533, a weekly series where I share interesting articles, books, fashion finds, recipes and more.
Friday Favorites from Half Baked Harvest, Eat Well 101, Sheri Silver and More.
Good Friday Favorites morning to you my friends. Hope you had a great week. It’s been busy here with appointments, outings with friends and life. I was so tired that yesterday afternoon I took a nap.
Tonight we are headed to a friends for cocktails and appetizers. It’s supposed to rain for most of the weekend so I am not sure what the plans are. Thankfully it didn’t snow or freeze as it did in the NE.
It’s almost grilling season and vacation time, the perfect excuse to slow down and savor the warm weather and time with friends. Next weekend is Memorial Day and in the blink of an eye it is going to be Christmas.
Ok, let’s get to the fun stuff.
Friday Foods
Here are a few recipes you might enjoy and want to bookmark for the warm days and holiday ahead.

Add these grilled lemon garlic chicken skewers to your next bbq. They can be served as an appetizer or the main course.

Simple lemony feta and mascarpone pasta with grilled asparagus looks and sounds like a great addition to your summer menu rotation.

Corn and grilled zucchini salad, perfect for lunch or dinner.

High protein strawberry cottage cheese ice cream bars like the viral Tik Tok ice cream but much better.

A different kind of catfish, the catfish cocktail. This effervescent vodka, lemon, and basil cocktail will quench your thirst and cool you off on a hot summer day.
You can find more of my favorite recipes on Pinterest, I have thousands pinned. Instead of tearing them out of magazines I pin them and then I know right where they are. Does anyone else do this or is it just me?

Books

That was the beauty of books, wasn’t it? They took you places you didn’t know you needed to go…
Alice has always wanted to be a writer. Her talent is innate, but her stories remain safe and detached, until a devastating event breaks her heart open, and she creates a stunning debut novel.
Her words, in turn, find their way to readers, from a teenager hiding her homelessness, to a free diver pushing himself beyond endurance, an artist furious at the world around her, a bookseller in search of love, a widower rent by grief. Each one is drawn into Alice’s novel; each one discovers something different that alters their perspective, and presents new pathways forward for their lives.

Lucy Hart knows better than anyone what it’s like to grow up without parents who loved her. In a childhood marked by neglect and loneliness, Lucy found her solace in books, namely the Clock Island series by Jack Masterson. Now a twenty-six-year-old teacher’s aide, she is able to share her love of reading with bright, young students, especially seven-year-old Christopher Lamb, who was left orphaned after the tragic death of his parents. Lucy would give anything to adopt Christopher, but even the idea of becoming a family seems like an impossible dream without proper funds and stability.
Just when Lucy is about to give up, Jack Masterson announces he’s finally written a new book. Even better, he’s holding a contest at his home on the real Clock Island, and Lucy is one of the four lucky contestants chosen to compete to win the one and only copy.
For Lucy, the chance of winning the most sought-after book in the world means everything to her and Christopher. But first she must contend with ruthless book collectors, wily opponents, and the distractingly handsome (and grumpy) Hugo Reese, the illustrator of the Clock Island books. Meanwhile, Jack “the Mastermind” Masterson is plotting the ultimate twist ending that could change all their lives forever.

When Emma Jansen discovers that the grand Long Island estate where she grew up is set to be demolished, she can’t help but return for one last visit. After all, it was a place filled with firsts: learning to ride a bike, sneaking a glass of champagne, falling in love.
But once Emma arrives at the storied mansion, she can’t ignore the more complicated memories. Because that’s not exactly where Emma grew up. Her mother and father worked for the family that owned the estate, and they lived over the garage like Audrey Hepburn’s character in the film Sabrina. Emma never felt fully accepted, except by the family’s grandson, Henry—a former love—and by the driver’s son, Leo—her best friend.

Friday Finds~Shopping Break

Have you shopped the linen at J. Crew? I am looking for a few new pieces and was wondering if anyone had purchased anything this season? This shirt is one of my favorites as is this sweater.

Talbot’s has a lightweight linen roll neck sweater that would be a classic wardrobe addition.

Skirts and matching shirts are the next best thing to a dress.

Colorful glassware for afternoon cocktails or your summer parties.

If you missed out on this wicker market bag with leather trim last you it’s back in stock!
