Good morning friends and a happy Friday and three day weekend to you! I cannot wait to enjoy the last hurrah of summer. We are going to a bbq festival, a concert and spending as much time as we can outside enjoying the beautiful weather. This is “the most wonderful time of the year” ok the second most wonderful time of the year but still wonderful. Once Labor Day is over there it will be as if the flood gates opened and all things pumpkin spice, pumpkins, pinecones, acorns and more will proliferate this space. What can I say pumpkin spice(not latte) is my favorite flavor.

On that note I will also confess that I have already eaten some Halloween candy, I was at the store a couple of weeks ago and they had my two favorite Halloween candies piled high right by the checkout counter, candy corn and Reese’s peanut butter ghosts. Have you had any Halloween candy yet or am I the only one?
I have lots to share with you so get yourself a cup of coffee or chocolate and pull up a chair.
Food

Fall is all about football games, chili cook-offs and nesting inside. My friend Leslie made the most beautiful Fall Charcuterie board that will be perfect for all of your Fall gatherings.
Will you be hosting a bbq this weekend? If so you might want to make Italian Turkey burgers or for the vegetarians that are attending, this Black Bean Walnut Burgers with Saucy Sweet Onions sounds delicious. I think we are going to make caramelized onion and bacon burgers.
I have this Cauliflower Rice Veggie Burrito Bowl on the menu next week.

In case you missed it this week I shared an easy and delicious recipe for Roasted Corn & Cauliflower Chowder with Bacon and I also made this Broccoli Leek Soup last night and it is scrumptious.

What would a holiday weekend be without a sweet treat? These perfectly chocolate cupcakes are my favorite.

Books

I just finished reading Mr. Rosenblum Dreams in English.

I am currently reading .The Secret of Lost Things.

Pamela Terry is the author of the blog, From The House of Edward that I have been reading for over 10 years, she recently published her first novel The Sweet Taste of Muscadines which is not only a fabulous book but also the perfect Christmas gift!

I pre-ordered Once Upon a Chef awhile ago and I am awaiting its release on September 14. I think it is going to be a great addition to my collection as well as my weeknight menus this winter.
Finds

If you are a fan of Staub then you might want to take advantage of the sales on the You can also find it at and

I LOVE this entire outfit the sweater would be beautiful with black velvett pants during the holidays. I also love the pumpkin colored sweater as well. And this dress from Target.

This sweater from Target is one of the most popular things I posted about this week, has anyone ordered it? Do you like it? Believe it or not we do not have a Target in my new town but that has not stopped me from looking and shopping online. I recently purchase this Fall doormat, but

I know that some people get irritated that in early September there are posts about Fall food, fashions and finds so I would imagine that a Christmas find will really get on a few peoples nerves but I had to post a link to this beautiful flocked tree! I’ve never had a flocked tree but have always wanted one and I think this might be the year I get one. Have you ever had a faux flocked tree? Do you or did you like it?
I hope that you found something that you enjoyed, a recipe, a link to an article or perhaps a “find.” I also hope that you share one or more of your favorite things from this week, a recipe, book, podcast or whatever else you found this week that you think we would enjoy.
Have a wonderful and safe weekend my friends. To my friends in Louisiana I am praying for you!

Always a treat to read your Friday posts. The chocolate cupcakes look so decadent and delicious.
I must admit, I don’t like candy corn.
Those chocolate cupcakes look mighty good. Suddenly in the last months, however, I’ve kind of lost my taste for chocolate for some reason. Strange, I don’t have one bit of chocolate in this whole apartment. When was the last time that happened?
Brenda
