A weekend update, Sue de Chiara, The Zhush, Fall Fashion and more on Monday Musings.

MONDAY MUSINGS NO.95
Good morning friends, how was your weekend?
It was a beautiful Fall weekend here in the land of the pines. Cool mornings, and sunny days.
Saturday we walked to the village to meet family and to enjoy the Holly Arts Fest. After a stop at the Carolina for a coffee and hot chocolate we were ready to peruse the stalls.
The village streets are closed off and booths are set up and down the streets and in front of the shops. Handmade pottery, sweaters, hats, children’s clothes, flowers, homebred cookies, breads, antiques and so much more. Not to mention the people and dog watching.
As we munched on pumpkin donuts and monster cookies, wandering the streets the sounds of laughter and the local orchestra filled the air.
Sunday was a “work-day” we spent the day moving furniture around the house and switching rooms. Long story short, the master bedroom in this house is the former owners art studio. It has vaulted ceilings, sky lights, and windows or French doors on every wall. It is too big to be a cozy bedroom and the only wall for a bed has small windows above it that the neighbor motion lights shine in every time a tree branch moves.
We moved into the original master bedroom of the house, which is small and cosy and has a beautiful view of the golf course.
What about you? What did you do this weekend?
Next up +5 things.

+5 THINGS
1.READ~
Castellamare is an island far enough away from the mainland to be forgotten, but not far enough to escape from the world’s troubles. At the center of the island’s life is a café draped with bougainvillea called the House at the Edge of Night, where the community gathers to gossip and talk. Amedeo Esposito, a foundling from Florence, finds his destiny on the island with his beautiful wife, Pina, whose fierce intelligence, grace, and unwavering love guide her every move. An indiscretion tests their marriage, and their children—three sons and an inquisitive daughter—grow up and struggle with both humanity’s cruelty and its capacity for love and mercy.
Spanning nearly a century, through secrets and mysteries, trials and sacrifice, this beautiful and haunting novel follows the lives of the Esposito family and the other islanders who live and love on Castellamare: a cruel count and his bewitching wife, a priest who loves scandal, a prisoner of war turned poet, an outcast girl who becomes a pillar of strength, a wounded English soldier who emerges from the sea. The people of Castellamare are transformed by two world wars and a great recession, by the threat of fascism and their deep bonds of passion and friendship, and by bitter rivalries and the power of forgiveness.

Weekend here was hot! I’m so ready for fall temperatures. We saw a strange play called The Antelope Party.
By the way, I think you meant “valulted not faulted” ceilings. Have a good week
Good morning Nanci,
I know how you feel, we lived for years in Florida and it was always strange to have hot weather when it “should be” colder. I am from the Midwest so I love 4 seasons.
Yes, it should be vaulted. Thank you for catching that!
Have a great week.
That book sounds amazing. I just finished The Hound of the Baskervilles and now I’m wondering whether I should read Sweet Sorrow or Interpreter of Maladies.
The Hounds of the Baskervilles is classic! I am going to have to reread it , thank you for the suggestion. I hope that you have a wonderful week. Is the weather cooling off?
I love the sweater vest in navy that has the tie closures on the side. However, I don’t know where to purchase it. Could you let me know?
Love your site. Lots of info.
Hello Jane,
Here is a link to the vest, https://rstyle.me/+uYS3UVqEhy_i0gNMGJpAzA I think it is a beautiful addition to a fall and winter wardrobe.
Have a wonderful day!
