MONDAY MUSINGS NO. 137
Good morning friends, happy Monday musings to you. How was your weekend?
It was another beautiful weekend here in NC. This is the best “in between” season that we have had in 3 years. The weather has been so pleasant, I wish it would stay this way.
We have a lot to do this week as family will be arriving late Wednesday. Then we will be going non-stop until they leave early Sunday morning. A short but jam packed weekend with a birthday party, barbecue festival, cookout and day at the beach club.
Have you been shopping lately? I ran into HomeGood and TJ Maxx and it was over run with gaudy, cheap Halloween decorations. The prices were ridiculous. Who buys this stuff? Seriously, where do you store a skull the size of a mini-Cooper? I am exaggerating but it was huge.
What about you, what did you get up to this weekend?
Ok, on to +5 Things.
1.READ~

Imagine keeping a record of every book you’ve ever read. What would this reading trajectory say about you? With passion, humor, and insight, the editor of The New York Times Book Review shares the stories that have shaped her life.
Pamela Paul has kept a single book by her side for twenty-eight years – carried throughout high school and college, hauled from Paris to London to Thailand, from job to job, safely packed away and then carefully removed from apartment to house to its current perch on a shelf over her desk – reliable if frayed, anonymous-looking yet deeply personal. This book has a name: Bob.
Bob is Paul’s Book of Books, a journal that records every book she’s ever read, from Sweet Valley High to Anna Karenina, from Catch-22 to Swimming to Cambodia, a journey in reading that reflects her inner life – her fantasies and hopes, her mistakes and missteps, her dreams and her ideas, both half-baked and wholehearted. Her life, in turn, influences the books she chooses, whether for solace or escape, information or sheer entertainment.
But My Life with Bob isn’t really about those books. It’s about the deep and powerful relationship between book and reader. It’s about the way books provide each of us the perspective, courage, companionship, and imperfect self-knowledge to forge our own path. It’s about why we read what we read and how those choices make us who we are. It’s about how we make our own stories.

4. SHOPPING BREAK~FINDS & SALES

Leopard is everywhere this season. Personally I like it although I know many people that don’t. That said, if and when I wear it I am not dressed head to toe in spots. Today I put together a very casual, sophisticated outfit with leopard shoes.
You could wear pants or a skirt in place of the jeans with the black turtleneck.

Monday I shared this transitional outfit for Fall, a great book and lots more.

Last but not least, Friday Favorites! Recipes(including roasted acorn squash with pecans and blue cheese), books, fashion(including this outfit) and so much more.

Lovely pre-fall weather here in NC. Quick question…where do you go to the beach from Pinehurst?
Sue, it has been beautiful. Today is a little hot though. Hopefully it will cool off again soon, I was getting spoiled. I actually meant the Pinehurt CC beach club. But otherwise we head to Oak Island.
Have a great day.
I haven’t been in a store in ages. But I remember how aggravated I used to get because they’d put Christmas stuff out in the summer, etc. I don’t know who would want one of those skulls period, regardless of the size!
