Halloween chocolate covered Oreo’s are an easy and delicious treat that combine sour favorite store bought sandwich cookie, white and dark chocolate and are topped with sprinkles, colored sugar, spooky eyes and candy.

Halloween is all about the candy, treats and costumes. I am not sure what it is going to look like this year but if you live in a place where there will be no trick or treating and you have young kids or grandkids why not have a little party at home.
The kids can have a scavenger hunt in the house and yard for candy or they could decorate cookies and enjoying eating all of the candy while they are doing it. Make sure to get a variety of candy corn, M&M’s, sprinkles, colored sugar and other candy to decorate the cookies with. You can also use orange or black melting wafers from your local craft store if you want colored cookies too.
Make some of these chocolate covered Halloween Oreo’s for yourself and then make a few extra to share with your neighbors.

Gather your ingredients and you can make White Chocolate Covered Oreos or Chocolate Covered Oreos.

These Chocolate Covered Oreos are the perfect treat for kids to make. You simply melt chocolate, dip the cookies and decorate. It could not get any easier or fun for kids and adults.

Chocolate Covered Halloween Oreo Sandwich Cookies
Ingredients
20-25 Oreo cookies
1 Package Ghiardelli Chocolate Melting Wafers
1 package Ghirardelli White Chocolate Melting wafers
Colored Sugar(Black/Orange)
Assorted Candy, including Candy Corn, M&M’s, Reeses Pieces
Directions
1. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or a Silphat baking sheet. Set aside.
2. Pour white baking wafers into a microwave safe bowl and melt according to manufacture directions, be careful not to burn.
3. Pour the dark chocolate melting wafers into a microwave save bowl and melt according to the manufactures directions.
4. Dip the Oreo’s(10) one at a time in the melted dark chocolate, flip the cookie and then using a fork shake off the excess chocolate. Continue to dip the Oreo’s into the chocolate until most of the chocolate is used up, safe the last of the chocolate to drizzle and decorate the white chocolate dipped cookies.
5. Dip 10 of the Oreo’s into the melted white chocolate, one at a time, make sure to shake off the extra chocolate with a fork. Set each cookie onto the parchment paper.
6. Decorate each cookie with sprinkles, colored sugar, spooky candy eyes, M&M’s, Reese’s Pieces and any other candy that you like.
You can also take the white chocolate and drizzle it back and forth across the white dipped cookies to make “bandages”, then add eyes.
If you have remaining chocolate you can dip more cookies or use it to decorate the other cookies.

Have a great time with your kids or just decorating cookies for yourself!

If you are feeling ambitious you could also make this Chocolate Mummy Cake with Buttercream Frosting, it is easy and delicious.

Thanks for an adorable treat for the grandkids that even I can make! I had already bought Oreos and eyeballs to turn Reese’s cups into bats so I am excited to add some variety to my treats.
Debra, they are so easy and delicious!
