Pumpkin Pie French Toast with Pecans and Syrup

Good morning! I had a fabulous weekend, what about you? The weather here was crazy, it was 90 but I guess the good news is that we did not get any snow like the Dakota’s. I think that we are in for a crazy winter but for now I am going to wait for Fall to come back and enjoy it.

Fall is my favorite season as it is for many and I am busy trying many new and old  pumpkin and apples recipes. This weekend was no exception, I made Pumpkin Pie French Toast. Apple Almond Pie, Pumpkin Cake and a few more things I will share with you this week.

French toast is tasty weekend treat and this weekend I decided to use up a little pumpkin that I had left over from another recipe. The recipe is your standard toast recipe with the addition of pumpkin puree and a host of spices. This recipe is so easy, and delicious.

Pumpkin Pie French Toast with Pecans

Serves 2

Ingredients:

1 egg

1/4 cup of milk or cream

3 or 4 tablespoons of pumpkin puree

dash of cinnamon

dash of cloves

dash of nutmeg

splash of vanilla

4 slices of day old french bread

Garnish with pecans and maple syrup

Whisk all ingredients, except the bread in a shallow bowl. Once well mixed, place bread into mixture and let sit for a few minutes then turn over and do the same.

Heat pan to medium heat and grill the bread until golden brown.

Serve with pecans and maple syrup

This recipe is a keeper and one that I cannot wait to enjoy again. The addition of the pumpkin puree and the spices makes this a delectable treat for the weekend and for the upcoming holidays!

What did you make or do this weekend? Share your recipes or travels, I would love to hear about them!

Have a great day!
