MONDAY MUSINGS NO. 147
Good morning friends, happy Monday musings to you. How was your weekend?
Mine was quiet, the contractors were off for the weekend and it was a nice break from all of the people in and out all week.
Aside from that we have been making preparations for my mother-in-laws funeral. Several people live out of state and my husband’s step-siblings are out of the country so obviously we are waiting for their return.
Friday we celebrated my nephews birthday and Sunday my sister-in law and my step-daughter. A busy weekend with family and friends and a bit of a distraction.
Ok, on to +5 Things.
1.READ~The Booklover’s Library

In Nottingham, England, widow Emma Taylor finds herself in desperate need of a job. She and her beloved daughter Olivia have always managed just fine on their own, but with the legal restrictions prohibiting widows with children from most employment opportunities, she’s left with only one option: persuading the manageress at Boots’ Booklover’s Library to take a chance on her with a job.
When the threat of war in England becomes a reality, Olivia must be evacuated to the countryside. In the wake of being separated from her daughter, Emma seeks solace in the unlikely friendships she forms with her neighbors and coworkers, and a renewed sense of purpose through the recommendations she provides to the library’s quirky regulars. But the job doesn’t come without its difficulties. Books are mysteriously misshelved and disappearing and the work at the lending library forces her to confront the memories of her late father and the bookstore they once owned together before a terrible accident.
As the Blitz intensifies in Nottingham and Emma fights to reunite with her daughter, she must learn to depend on her community and the power of literature more than ever to find hope in the darkest of times.

But different is just what Sandra needs at the moment, and she reluctantly lets Bif drag her along to a community dance class, where she starts finding her feet.

4. SHOPPING BREAK~Outfit of the Day

Dressing up for the holidays is one of my favorite things, I love plaids and velvets and cashmere pieces that I can mix and match year after year.
Boden always has some great piece, like these plaid shoes and this tulle skirt that you can wear not only for the holidays but all season long. The shoes are perfect with jeans as well as your favorite slacks and skirts. And the skirt can be dressed up or down.
Pull out your family jewels and add a broach or a pair of your favorite earrings and you are ready for The Nutcracker, an evening out or a holiday party.
You can see all of my holiday outfits on LTK, so be sure to follow me. As for the plaid pieces don’t forget to check out my plaid page.
