Good morning. I hope that your week is going well. Are you ready for Easter, do you have your dinner planned? We are staying home this year so to be honest I have been a little slow in deciding on what we are having as it is always hard to plan a “big” dinner for two. At the same time I want to make the holiday special just as my family always makes it, so I am thinking traditional fare but on a smaller scale.
Here are 15 traditional Easter dinner ideas if you are cooking for 2 or a crowd.
Champagne Bar Southern Living |
A simple juice and champagne bar is perfect for brunch, lunch or dinner.
Deviled Eggs are a must, especially if you decorated a bunch and do not want to eat egg salad for the next week.
Deviled Eggs from Country Living |
In my family ham is always on the menu for Easter. I can remember my grandmother getting up early before mass and basting the ham before we left and for hours after we returned home while preparing all of the scrumptious side dishes. We kiddies in the mean time ran around the house looking for our baskets and the eggs that the bunny hid for us to find.
Clove studded Ham Image HERE |
I personally like ham studded with cloves and basted with something sugary so make the crust perfect. You could also make a leg of lamb if you like.
Garlic Carrots from Damn Delicious |
Carrots like this recipe from Damn Delicious are always on the menu.
Shaved Vegetable Salad from Southern Living |
A beautiful salad or two is always a good idea.
Strawberry Salad with Blue Cheese |
Easer Salad with Ginger Dressing from Working Mom’s Edible Art |
As is some fruit.
Strawberry Rhubarb Salad Southern Living |
I personally love a potato dish of any kind and these parsley potatoes look like an easy one to prepare.
Easter Potatoes from Foodie Crush |
My personal favorite, scalloped potatoes.
Scalloped Potatoes from Gimme Some Oven |
Of course fresh rolls are a must too!
Easter dinner rolls from The Food Charlatan |

As for dessert, at my moms Schaum Torte with fresh berries is always on the menu, it is one of the desserts that my grandmother always made and is a family favorite.

I think this Swedish Cream with Berries would be a fresh and easy dessert to make.
I am making this Butter Cake with Strawberries and Cream.

Have a great day!

That decorated salad is so clever. But I wouldn't want to destroy it by eating it!
All the berries and whipped cream look delicious. I saw the first local strawberries last week. A sign of spring.
