Calming lavender scented bath salts make an easy, and beautiful gift for everyone on your holiday list.

Lavender scented epsom salt

Self-care during these challenging times is very important and a warm, comforting bath at the end of the day with lavender scented epsom salts is the perfect way to unwind and shed the cares of the day, at least for a little while. Add a glass of wine or champagne for an added indulgence.

These lavender scented Epsom salts are also an easy, economical homemade gift to give to family and friends or to make for yourself. I like to gift them in a vintage bowl with a silver-plate spoon or small wood scoop, wrap them in cellophane, tie them with a pretty ribbon and place them in a basket with all sorts of other self care items, including soap, sponges, a book, candle and a few chocolate bars. You could add some christmas cookies, a bottle of wine or champagne, the possibilities are endless. My suggestion is to add to the basket whatever you would enjoy receiving and your recipient with love it.

Directions

1. Mix the epsom salt, coarse salt and baking soda together in a bowl.

2. Add the drops of lavender essential oil to the bowl and mix again.

3. Add as many lavender sprigs and flowers as you like to the salts and mix one more time.

4. Pour bath salts into a jar. Add a bow and a tag, place in a basket with a bath sponge, a beautiful bar of soap, a candle, some matches(make your own), a book and maybe a bottle of wine or champagne.

Or place the salts in a vintage bowl, wrap in cellophane wrap, tie with a bow and add a gift tag.

Note:

Essential oils are very strong and some people may be allergic to them, so if you are pregnant, have a skin condition, Asthma, or are in doubt seek the advice of a doctor. And remember to keep all oils out of reach of children.

Are you making any gifts for the holidays? I think they are the best gifts to give and receive. If you are making gifts please share your links so that we can check them out and possibly make them too!

Have a great day!

What a great idea Elizabeth – your version looks so pretty in those lovely photos.
All I would need to go along with them would be someone to help me get back out of the bath tub! Don't laugh, just know that the shower is the only way to go at my age. . . . . feel my pain!!!!

This is a great idea. I like to give consumable gifts to adults, and I know a few folks who would appreciate bath salts. Thanks for the tutorial! Do you mind if I share this in my newsletter? I would talk about it and include a link to this post.

This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life This is how I feel tonight, as if I am seeing life through the blur of tears and sorrow. Sunday night my friend of 34 years lost her husband of 36 years, because of Covid he did not get to meet or hold his newborn grandson. Then just an hour ago we received a call that my husbands best friend died of a massive heart attack this morning. Sometimes life just knocks you to your knees and all you can do is pray for the loved ones you’ve lost, cherish their memories and let your time with them sustain you until you meet again. Then you ask God for the strength to get up and move forward. #life #loss #givemestrength #givemestrengthlord #pray

So I am hunkering down and taking solace inside enjoying the details of a collected home and life. Good afternoon friends, it’s a frigid day here. Good afternoon friends, it’s a frigid day here. How is it in your “neck of the woods?” We took a long road-trip a few weeks ago to the beautiful @colonialwmsburg . I love this place, there is so much to see and do and even wearing masks and social distancing you can still enjoy the history and the beauty of this living museum. Today I am home doing the weekend chores, and of course doing a little baking. I hope that you have a fabulous weekend. #colonialwilliamsburg #williamsburg #colonialhouse #livinghistory #livinghistorymuseum #museum #winterfun #roadtrip #wanderlust #weekend #weekendvibes #weekendmood
