Good morning friends! Can you believe that there are only 17 days until Christmas? All of a sudden the longest year is going at warp speed. I have shared several gift lists lately but I haven’t shared my all timefavorite gifts yet, books! Books are the wonderful gifts for both adults and children, they are the gift that “keeps on giving” because more often than not you read it more than once or your pass it along to someone else to read and share.

Christmas book and cup of cocoa

Many years ago, I read about a mom that wrapped up 25 Christmas books and placed them in a basket, each night the kids would pick a package from the basket, open it up and read it together. I think it is a wonderful Christmas tradition and a beautiful way to make memories with your kids or grandkids.

I realize that purchasing 25 books at once can be a little expensive, so maybe you purchase a few each year, or you could borrow some from the library, pick some up from thrift stores or read a few free books on Kindle.

For a little girl named Susan, Christmas could be any other day. She doesn’t believe in Santa Claus or magic or miracles of any kind. Then one day she meets Kriss Kringle. As she doubtfully tells him the gifts she most wishes for, deep down Susan finds herself hoping that just maybe, he is the real thing. Based on the original holiday classic, Miracle on 34th Street is a heartwarming story about generosity, imagination, and the spirit of Christmas.
