Good Friday morning to your friends! I hope that you had a wonderful week. Have you been enjoying all things made with hardboiled eggs and chocolate bunnies? It was a busy but beautiful week here, then was shinning and the pollen was plentiful. I don’t even have allergies and my eyes were scratchy all week. That is one of the down sides of Spring. It is going to rain this weekend so I am going to catch up on all of the things I let slide because of the beautiful weather and read a few magazines that have been piling up too. What are your plans? Whatever you do I hope that you make time to relax and rest, after all that is what weekends are for?
This week I have lots to share so get your coffee or cocoa and enjoy!
Food
I have never made a recipe from this blog that wasn’t delicious and this Lemon Artichoke Hummus is one of my new favorites. If you are not familiar with The View from Great Island blog you will definitely want to bookmark it.

What’s Gabby Cooking is right up my alley.
It is almost bbq season and one of my favorite sides is baked beans, what can I say I love the sweet savory aspect of beans on the side of my hamburger or brats. I think this year I am going to trade in my favorite recipe for this one from Fox Valley Foodie.
Are you a rice pudding lover? If so you might want to try your hand at making The Bugatti of Rice Pudding.

Thank you Jen!
Love rice pudding – my mother made the best ever and I’ve never been able to replicate it!
Enjoyed the Ben Franklin article too – life is so much different for us though. I’ll never be able to rise at 5 AM. . . . . . . unless there’s a plane to catch, something he never had to stress over, lol!
I’m reading RISE by Nina Allen, and picked up BETHLEHEM by Karen Kelly – a multi-generational novel set in the ’20’s and ’90’s – at the Dollar Store this week – mainly because of the beautiful woman in a 1920’s cloche hat on the cover – but the story should be interesting!
I have several pieces of Emma Bridgwater’s ‘Black Toast’ china – my favorite!
All those pretty clothes – I ordered a couple of things from J.Jill yesterday, floaty printed linen long topper, linen wide leg crops, and a pair of Bjorn summer sandals – hope I like all and that everything fits! I haven’t been brave enough to go to the mall store yet!
Enjoy the weekend Elizabeth – we had a storm last night which thankfully has settled some of the ghastly pollen!
Hugs – Mary
