Friday Favorites

Fresh flowers and magazines

Good Friday morning to your friends! I hope that you had a wonderful week. Have you been enjoying all things made with hardboiled eggs and chocolate bunnies? It was a busy but beautiful week here, then was shinning and the pollen was plentiful. I don’t even have allergies and my eyes were scratchy all week. That is one of the down sides of Spring. It is going to rain this weekend so I am going to catch up on all of the things I let slide because of the beautiful weather and read a few magazines that have been piling up too. What are your plans? Whatever you do I hope that you make time to relax and rest, after all that is what weekends are for?

This week I have lots to share so get your coffee or cocoa and enjoy!

Food

I have never made a recipe from this blog that wasn’t delicious and this Lemon Artichoke Hummus is one of my new favorites. If you are not familiar with The View from Great Island blog you will definitely want to bookmark it.

PASTA WITH CHICKEN SAUSAGE AND ROASTED VEGGIES (5-INGREDIENTS!)

Image from Cooking For Keeps

This paste with chicken sausage and roasted vegetables looks delicious! I cannot wait to make it. You might also enjoy this recipe for a no boil pasta bake!

I love to eat meal  in a bowl, ok not anything, but most foods that are served in bowls. I don’t know why but they seem like comfort food. This recipe from
What’s Gabby Cooking is right up my alley.

It is almost bbq season and one of my favorite sides is baked beans, what can I say I love the sweet savory aspect of beans on the side of my hamburger or brats. I think this year I am going to trade in my favorite recipe for this one from Fox Valley Foodie.

Are you a rice pudding lover? If so you might want to try your hand at making The Bugatti of Rice Pudding.

 Books

What are you reading this week? Here are the books I have read or am currently reading. If you have a book recommendation please share int he comments.

Cover of the Book A Good Apple

A Good Apple is a book that I heard about on a podcast this week and it sounded interesting so I have ordered it from my library.

Book cover of While Paris Slept

I am currently reading While Paris Slept.

Book cover of I'll See you in Paris

I just finished reading I’ll See You in Paris by the same author of one of my favorite books A Paris Apartment.

If you are looking for more to read you can visit My Books Shop on my sidebar or on
Pinterest, where I post all of the books that I’ve read or shared in my Friday Favorites post.

Finds

Blue and white chinoiserie dress

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress, the pattern, the colors, and the style, the price not so much.

Orange polka dot dress

I also like this colorful dress from Target.

If you are fans of J.Crew they are having a great sale this week and there are lots of beautiful dresses and this tulip cashmere sweater that you might enjoy for summer.

You can also see more of my “Finds” on Pinterest as well.

What have you made this week? Or read? Did you listen to an interesting podcast? If so please share! I hope that you have a wonderful week! Stay safe.

Love rice pudding – my mother made the best ever and I’ve never been able to replicate it!
Enjoyed the Ben Franklin article too – life is so much different for us though. I’ll never be able to rise at 5 AM. . . . . . . unless there’s a plane to catch, something he never had to stress over, lol!
I’m reading RISE by Nina Allen, and picked up BETHLEHEM by Karen Kelly – a multi-generational novel set in the ’20’s and ’90’s – at the Dollar Store this week – mainly because of the beautiful woman in a 1920’s cloche hat on the cover – but the story should be interesting!
I have several pieces of Emma Bridgwater’s ‘Black Toast’ china – my favorite!
All those pretty clothes – I ordered a couple of things from J.Jill yesterday, floaty printed linen long topper, linen wide leg crops, and a pair of Bjorn summer sandals – hope I like all and that everything fits! I haven’t been brave enough to go to the mall store yet!
Enjoy the weekend Elizabeth – we had a storm last night which thankfully has settled some of the ghastly pollen!
    Hugs – Mary
