Good morning friends! Summer has officially begun and that means lots of entertaining; bbq’s, trips to the beach and picnics. Picnics are an easy and impromptu way to celebrate little and big occasions, simply grab your blanket, beverages, snacks, sandwiches, bug spray and plop it all into a basket and you are ready for the fireworks, a family dinner or even date night with your husband.

For me the most important part of any occasion is dessert. Â You cannot have a celebration or a gathering without a sweet treat, at least not at my house. Today I am going to share my favorite sweet treats to make to take along to your next picnic.
Today I am joining 7 amazing ladies to share our ideas on picnicking, everything from food, to desserts and more.

Here are just a few of my all time favorite picnic treats.

Brownies
Brownies are perfect for picnics, because they are easy to transport and you can customize them to suit the taste of your guests, you can make them plain, with frosting or stuffed with caramel, peanut butter or whatever else you like.

Pies
Leave your pie pan at home and take along some  Blueberry Hand Pies, these are made with store bought pie crest(Trader Joes’s ), and can be customized with any of your favorite summer fruits.

Bars
Bar “cookies” are another easy to make and transport treat and these Raspberry Almond Shortbread Bars are so good you will want to make extra to have on hand for all of your summer parties. I always make extra and freeze them.
Cheesecake
Instead of one large cheesecake why not make a pan of bars, just make sure to keep them cool if you are planning to be out all day.

Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake Bars

If want a change from fruit bars try these Almond Cheesecake bars.
Cookies

You can never go wrong when you bring cookies to a picnic, especially  Chocolate Chip Cookies.Â
Cereal Treats

Rice Krispy treats, Scotcheroos, and S’mores Cereal Treats are no bake treats that won’t heat up the house and are always a crowd pleaser.
Cake and Cupcakes

If you have room in your basket a Snack Cake or cupcakes is good for a crowd. I like to add jimmies and sprinkles to make them a little more festive and special for the kids.
I hope that you enjoyed my sweet picnic treat ideas and that the next time you are headed out for a day at the park you try one of these recipes. Please take a minute or two and visit my friends and check out all of their great ideas for having an enjoyable and delicious picnic.
Have a wonderful day and don’t forget to share your sweet or savory picnic food ideas in the comments.
