DIY Dollar tree Valentine’s Day Candy Favors

February 1, 2023 By Elizabeth 31 Comments

This is an easy and adorable Valentine’s Day candy  favor that will make the day a little sweeter! Your kids will enjoy helping put these together for family and friends.

Red, white and pink paper cones filled with valentines day candy in an arc with a ribbon wrapped at the bottom and spilled candy.

DIY Dollar Tree Valentine’s Day Candy Favors

Are you looking for an easy, inexpensive Valentine’s Day candy favor for school or just to give to family and friends? Look no further, this DIY valentine’s candy favor is made using items from The Dollar Tree!

The best part about this Valentine’s Day treat is that there is no baking involved!

They are also a great DIY to make with your kids and grandkids because it is easy, fun and includes candy!

Another plus is that almost everything can be purchased at the Dollar Tree. The only thing I did not get at the Dollar Tree is the cone shaped cellophane bags, they are from Amazon.

Red, white, pink heart doilies and three bowls of valentines day candy

How to Make Valentine’s Day Candy Favors

To make these candy favors all you need are a few things. Red, white, and pink doilies, ice cream sugar cones, candy, cellophane bags, and ribbon or twine. You could also fill your favors with small cookies, meringues, popcorn, and caramel corn or whatever else you like.

Supplies for Valentine’s Day Favors

Red, White, Pink Heart Shaped Doilies(from the Dollar Tree or Amazon)

Sugar Cones (from the Dollar Tree)

Cellophane Coned Shaped Bags

Heart Ribbon(from the Dollar Tree)

Candy or Cookies

Candy of your choice including:

M & M candy, plain or with peanuts

Tootsie rolls

Cinnamon Hearts

Cherry Hearts

Hershey’s Kisses

Mini sugar cookies

Truffles

Small candy bars

DIY Valentines Day Favors using sugar cones, doilies, candy, cellophane bags and ribbon.

How To Assemble Valentines Day Candy Cone Favors

Take one sugar cone and wrap it with a doily, you can tape the edge if necessary. Then place the cones into the cellophane bag.

Fill the cones with the candy, cookies, marshmallows or any other sweet treat. Hershey Kisses are a family favorite or M&M’s,  popcorn or treats of your choice then tie the top with twine or ribbon.

Tip

You can also make your own cone shape with paper if you do not want to purchase sugar cones. A coordinating craft paper would look great wrapped in the heart doily and then placed into the cellophane bags.

Valentine's Day Favor

I filled my cones with all sorts of candy. M & M’s which my brother-in-law loves, Starburst hearts for the grand-kids, cinnamon lips for my mom, cherry hearts for me! In addition to store bought candy, I  am also making some almond dragees and some of my favorite brownies and these bars to include in my Valentine’s Day gift box.

Red, white and pink doilies wrapped around cones and placed in cellophane, with a cone and filled Valentines day candy.

If you wanted to add a few homemade treats to your cones, I think small heart shape sugar cookies or even chocolate truffles would be perfect in these cones, after all there is nothing better for Valentine’s day than a homemade gift.

How to Decorate Valentines Day Candy Favors

If you are making these cones with your kids or grandkids you could add homemade Valentine’s Day tags with their artwork and cards as well. I am sure the recipients would love those special additions as much as the cones.

Life is short my friends, we should be letting our family and friends know every single day that we love them. Why not make Valentine’s Day extra special for your loved ones, or the kids at school by making these Valentine’s Day Dollars Tree Favors?
