Five homemade Mother’s Day Gift ideas to make for all of the mom’s in your life. Including DIY bath scrub, candy, brunch and more.
What are you doing for Mother’s Day? Did you get your mother something fabulous? Just in case you forgot or had the date wrong Mother’s Day is just a few days away. Here are 5 homemade Mother’s Day gift ideas that you can make and have ready by Sunday!
I personally love homemade gifts. A meal, candy, a beautiful dessert, a card, flowers or a gift made with love is the most special of all.
That said, all moms are different, maybe your mom has been itching to have a spa day. Maybe she has her eye on spending the evening at a concert or to just have a little time to herself?
Whatever the case, be sure that what you are making or doing for your mom it is something she wants. Not what you want her to have. Got that dads? Mom probably doesn’t want a Green Egg grill, although I could be wrong.
5 Homemade Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
1.Flowers in a Vintage Container
I do not know any mom that doesn’t like flowers, especially ones pick with care and placed in a vintage container. This is actually two gifts in one and is a great way to repurpose and recycle.
Simply visit the nearest thrift store or antique mall and find a vintage container. It can be a tea canister, vintage tin, vase, blue willow tea cup or whatever your mom might like. Then take it home and fill it up with flowers or a plant.
You can forage in your garden, go to Trader Joe’s or the local grocery store and find your mom’s favorite flowers.

2. Homemade Candy
Candy is always a good ides, especially if it is chocolate and it is homemade. Everyone loves of homemade candy gifts. I give them for all holidays not only to my mom, but friends, aunts, and more.
I know that there are a few of you that are thinking and probably saying to themselves, I don’t know how to make candy. No problem, I have got you covered.
This recipe for Fleur de Sel Truffles is so easy and it only has 4 ingredients! It cannot get any easier than heating whipped cream and pouring it over chocolate!
For something a little more complicated you could make chocolate almond dragees or Dark chocolate caramelized almond bark(this is one of the best candy recipes I have ever made).
3.Bake a Coffeecake for Mother’s Day Brunch
Brunch is an easy meal to make, especially of you are not an avid cook. Scramble some eggs or make a quiche. Add some bacon, sausage and a coffeecake and voila you have a brunch that mom will love!
Don’t forget the coffee, tea, hot chocolate or mimosas. Here are a few of my all time favorite coffeecake recipes, Raspberry Almond Coffeecake,or Mixed Berry Coffeecake.
Cinnamon Walnut Coffeecake or Poppy Seed Danish are also popular.
4.DIY Gift
Are you crafty? Are you good at sewing? I am neither. But I do have a few things in my arsenal that make great gifts and these Lavender Bath Salts are one of the things I love to make to give as gifts.
Another idea, lavender sachet. Take some scrap fabric, sew it into squares or a shape that you like, add lavender buds and sew it closed.
Whatever your “gift” is, sewing, crochet, painting, drawing, etc, use it to make a beautiful, one of a kind gift for mom.
5.Homemade Card
No matter how old you are you are never too old to make a handmade card. Your mom would love a card made with love. Why not get out your markers, crayons, colored pencils, paint and paper and get to work?
Have your kids or grandkids create a card for their mom too.
