MONDAY MUSINGS NO. 154

Good morning friends, did you have a nice weekend? Ours was quiet.

Less seems to become more and more and more as I go room by room opening cabinets, closets and more. As I mentioned over the last couple of weeks I am trying to declutter and purge the house and each time I start something I am in awe of how much stuff there can be in a drawer or a room. Why? Why in the world did I keep all of this stuff? A question or an answer for another day.

As I age I feel like I need less and less and less and now that I started I fell like this is going to take a lot longer than I thought. That’s ok, a little every day and that is progress.

Cleaning, purging, baking and reading, a busy but productive weekend.

Are you off today? What are your plans? I will be home waiting for snow, again. The Polar Vortex is bringing very cold weather here and fingers crossed Tuesday and Wednesday we will get some snow.

Ok, on to 5 Things.

1.READ~The Memory Library

The Memory Library book cover.

I LOVED this book!

For forty-two years, Sally Harrison has been building a library.

Each year, on her daughter’s birthday, she adds a new book to her shelves – with a note in the front dedicated to her own greatest work.

But Ella – Sally’s only child – fled to Australia twenty-one years ago after a heated exchange, and never looked back. And though Sally still dutifully adds a new paperback to the shelves every time the clock strikes midnight on July 11th, her hopes of her daughter ever thumbing through the pages are starting to dwindle.

Then disaster strikes and Ella is forced to return to the home she once knew.

She is soon to discover that when one chapter ends, another will soon follow.

4. SHOPPING BREAK~OUTFIT OF THE DAY

Cosy winter outfit black sweats, red sweater, white t-shirt, plaid slippers and a book.

It is going to be C-O-L-D this week so I am staying in and staying warm. My indoor winter outfit is some sort of cosy pants and a sweater or a sweatshirt with a shirt or t-shirt underneath and slippers. I can work, go for a walk(minus the slippers) and do errands if I have to.

What is your go to cozy outfit?
